“Black Leg” Sanji: “Um… Sanji?” He turned his head at the call of his name and he had to cover his mouth to not laugh at your face. He had learned of a new recipe and you were more than excited to help him with it. He had put you on dough duty while he worked on toppings and sauces. How you got flour on your cheeks and forehead was a mystery to him.
Your pouting lips almost sent him into a nosebleed attack but he kept his composure as he finally released a chuckle. He grabbed a hand towel and put it under running water before going back over to you. He put one hand on your cheek and used the hand with the towel to wipe at your forehead first.
“(Y/N)-swan, how did this happen?” He asked, unable to keep the amusement out of his question. Your eyes closed at the pressure of his wiping and he moved his hand to clean the cheek that wasn’t in his hand. One of your eyes opened as the other was being smushed closed.
“The dough was too soft and I couldn’t knead it properly so I was going to use more flour… I didn’t think it would puff out when I opened it.” He laughed as he got the last bit of flour off the apple of your cheek.
“You were quite eager, huh, (Y/N)-swan?” He grinned as you narrowed your eyes at him. He took his hand back, switching the hand towel so he could clean your other cheek. The other hand took its spot on your clean cheek. The two of you stood in silence as he rubbed at your skin, a soft hum leaving your lips.
He thought you looked adorable like this; wearing an apron, your hair pulled back with pins, and your hands covered in flour. He couldn’t help himself as he pressed the cloth to your cheek fully so he was cupping your face. Your pout fell and a smile lifted your lips as you lifted yourself slightly to bump the tip of your nose against his. He chuckled before tilting your head down so he could press a kiss on your forehead.
He kept his lips there for a moment longer than when he usually kissed you before he pulled back. His eye met your shining (E/C) ones and he could only smile at your expression. He could feel how your cheeks warmed under his hands as he leaned in a bit closer. He tilted his head slightly and he glanced at your lips before looking back at your eyes. Your breaths intermingled before your eyes closed and he felt his own cheeks heat up. His own eyes closed before he leaned in and pressed his lips gently against yours.
It was more of a brushing of lips but it still took his breath away. He put the hand towel he was still holding on the counter so he could feel your skin instead of the cloth. After a moment longer, he pulled back and looked at your expression, heart racing and smiling as your eyes fluttered open. He felt your hands come up and grip his waist, making his eyes widen and blush to darken as you took a step forward to be closer to him. He could only let a breathless chuckle out when you puckered your lips at him again. He stroked your cheeks with his thumbs before leaning forward and pressing another kiss.
He didn’t care that he might have flour on his clothes from where your hands were or if the crew would have to wait to try out the new recipe. He was ecstatic with this next step of affection that both of you could enjoy.

Sanji was ecstatic when you came up to him with a small box. He took it into his hands and looked at the snowflake wrapping and ice blue ribbon tied in a pretty bow. He grinned and pressed a small kiss to your forehead.
“My dear, sharing gifts is still weeks away.”
“I know! I just… I’m too excited!” He chuckled at how you clasped your hands together in front of him, eyes glinting in the light of the kitchen.
“Can I open it?” He smiled at how enthusiastically you nodded and put it on the kitchen counter. He was careful with the ribbon and even more careful with the wrapping paper. He felt you hug his arm as he took the lid off the box. He peaked in first and blinked at the contents, carefully reaching in and grabbing the small hook. He lifted it out of the box and looked at it in awe.
The ornament itself was in the traditional sphere shape but it was filled with, what he assumed, white confetti. The sphere was decorated with a layer of white paint on the bottom and blue and purple snowflakes were scattered across the rest of the clear surface. As he looked closer, some of the snowflakes were in the shape of hearts. He noticed much more details across the sphere as he turned it in his hands, finding small hearts hidden in the white surface that symbolized the snow.
“Shake it a little.” His visible eye glanced at you before looking back at his gift, carefully taking the orb in his fingers on both hands, and gently shook it. The white confetti moved with his movement and he noticed something red peeking out. He continued to shake it, smiling to himself as he listened to you giggle at his frantic movements. Finally the little red piece of confetti came up to the top.
The red paper finally made its way to the top and he could finally see and read the black letters on it. There was an “S” letter and the first initial of your name with a small doodle of the two of you in it. He hugged the orb and turned to look at you, his bottom lip jutting out and his eye becoming watery. You laughed at his expression before cupping his face.
“Don’t cry! Do you like it? I got it customized at the last island with all the small details.”
He sniffled and nodded, rubbing his cheek against your palm and looking at the orb again. “I love it so much. Thank you, my dear.”
You giggled and removed your hands to put them on top of his that were holding the ornament now. “I figured you could decorate the kitchen with this. It’s not much but I thought you would like it.”
He was careful of the ornament as he leaned forward and kissed you gently. You returned the kiss, obviously, and rubbed the back of his hands with your thumbs. He pulled away and grinned at you, hugging the ornament again. He looked so content with his small gift that you couldn’t help but smile softly as you wiped the tears away from his visible eye and moved his bang to wipe at his other one. He leaned back in and kissed your forehead, his eyes closing as he smiled.
“I’ll make sure to get you the best gift, honey.” You rolled your eyes playfully as you watched him hang up the ornament on one of the cabinets. Once it was up, he ran over to you and engulfed you in a hug again.

“She/Her” 💙with Sanji for about 6 months requested by musicmarble
It felt so nice. His fingers had barely brushed against her waist, but her skin still tingled just from the memory and her cheeks burned. His soft grip against her flesh, a part of her body that she would consciously hide, even when she would dance, felt warm and she wanted nothing more than to stay in his grip.
“H….”
It didn’t last long, much to her disappointment, as the “threat” that was her captain and the fellow sniper had run past. If she hadn’t been pulled back, she would have been trampled. Well, that’s what Sanji had said, although his hand was still on her waist. He brought his hand back to his side, much to her dismay, coughing into his closed fist before stepping away from her.
“(Y/N)...” The soft smile that was directed specifically at her had made her heart race even now, 20 minutes after they had interacted. Suddenly, that warmth that filled her body was replaced with a bitter cold and a frown painted her face. As soon as the blonde stepped away, his attention had flitted to the orange haired navigator, who shouted a compliment of the drink in her hand, and he was off to get her a refill, happy as can be.
“Hey…” Why had it bothered her so much? It was so funny and, honestly, kind of adorable in the beginning. When she joined the crew, the attention Sanji gave her was surprising and, yet, flattered. His comments were the only times that she felt actually beautiful, even belly dancing hadn’t done that and she had danced for years. Lately, the comments and admiration to women that weren’t her… started to hurt. It didn’t make any sense! Sanji was just her crewmate! He was a phenomenal cook, a great fighter, and a kind man. He always made her feel better, making her laugh or checking on her. He made sure that everyone was fed. He was so focused on the crew eating that she often worried about when he would eat. Not to mention how handsome he was. Calloused hands that were still so gentle, blonde hair, soft eyes, not to mention toned legs-
“(Y/N)!” She jumped, her fingers releasing the arrow she had been pulling against her bow string. Her eyes widened as the arrow pierced through the air, the speed of it causing a whistle to fill the space. Usopp yelped and the man would have been skewered if his reflexes hadn’t made him dive into the ground. A loud crack came from where the arrow hit the wall instead of her target, adding a punch to her pride along with the embarrassment. She dropped her bow and scrambled over to her sniping buddy, holding her hands out to the man as he got to his knees.
“I’m so sorry, Usopp!” She cried, embarrassment causing her face to heat up. He took her hands and, with her help, stood up before patting the top of his head where the arrow whizzed past. Giving himself a once over, he sighed in relief and looked at her.
“What’s up with you lately?” He looked back at the target and raised his thumb to it, closing one eye and sticking his tongue out, before slowly moving to where the arrow actually hit. “You’re kind of off there. I’d say… a foot or so.” The lilt in his voice made her groan and she hid her face in her hands.
“Don’t rub it in, alright? I was training and I just started thinking… I guess I got lost in my thoughts a little…” She murmured, lowering her hands and going over to the pillar.
“Oh~ Can I guess about what?”
“Sure. Might as well drown in further embarrassment.” She glanced at him over her shoulder, seeing him already grasping his chin in thought. She turned back to the task at hand; trying to get arrow out of the damn pillar. She gripped the spine of the arrow and, after some struggling, she was able to pull it out of the woodwork. She grimaced. Franky would not be happy about that, she thought as she held the arrow in her hands.
“Ah! It’s about Sanji again!” At the sniper’s words, the arrow snapped in her hands and the blush she just got down came back with full force, making her feel it even at her ears. “Oh ho~ I… hit the target.” He quickly ducked again when the arrow, now in two pieces, was thrown at him. Her face was turned away and, although her face was burning already, the burning was more prominent in her eyes. She was tired. If there was anyone she could rely on, other than the object of her attention, it was her sniping buddy.
“I don’t know what’s going on with me… He’s… He’s always ogling other girls, to the point that he can’t fight sometimes. Always bending backwards just to see a woman look in his direction! It was funny in the beginning and I didn’t find anything wrong with it! But… lately…” She stuttered, hand going to her chest and gripping her shirt. “It’s been so painful lately… I want his compliments- No… his attention on me… When he does something for Nami or Robin, I just feel so upset… I feel like I’m going crazy…” She rubbed her stinging eyes and she wanted nothing to do more than to go to the girl’s room and cocoon herself in a blanket.
She jumped slightly as Usopp placed his hand on her shoulder after he stepped forward. She cupped her own face so she could see him clearly when she looked up at him. Despite her disheveled appearance, he had a soft smile on his face. His free hand raised and jabbed at her forehead, making her yelp and pout at him.
“Hey, why-!”
“You’re so dense. You like him. You know, ‘like like.’ That pain you’re feeling, well, that’s jealousy.” Her eyes went wide as his words hit her like a train. It all made sense now. Usopp watched the wheels in her head turn and Usopp jabbed her forehead again. “Earth to (Y/N). Stay grounded here.”
Her face was red and she gripped her head, groaning at the sudden racing in her heart and annoyance. “I didn’t realize it but you did… Was I really that obvious?” She whimpered softly.
“I’ve got a good eye. It comes with the job of being a sniper.” He teased before crossing his arms over his chest. “But… you know what the best way to get through this is?” (Y/N) snapped her head up at him and nodded, clutching her hands together in front of her.
“What?! W-What is it?!”
“You. Tell. Him.” He emphasized each word and held his hand up when her mouth opened. “Next week is Valentine’s Day. It’s a perfect opportunity to confess. When you confess, it’ll stop you from getting hurt when you see him.”
“... But what if he rejects me?” She whimpered, clutching at the hem of her shirt.
“Well… what if he doesn’t?” They both stared at each other for a while before Usopp smiled at her. “You got this, (Y/N).” He pointed his thumb at himself. “You’ve got your sniper bud on your side.”
She took a breath and, despite the clenching in her stomach, there was a warmth that spread across her chest.
“Thank you, Usopp…”
She put training aside for the day and, with the help of her sniper buddy, came up with a plan for the next day.
~
It was nerve wracking. (Y/N) decided on coming up with a dance for Valentine’s Day. She practiced for the next couple of days, reassuring her crew mates that her surprise was worth all the secrecy. The last few days had only confirmed Usopp’s suspicions when Sanji would bring her snacks and drinks with little notes of encouragement. Not even hours of practice could make her heart race as much as his little notes did. She would clutch them to her chest before folding them carefully and putting them away, going back to practicing with a new vigor. By the end of the week, she had fully embraced her feelings for the cook and, even though her nerves were through the roof, she was committed to telling him.
The deck was decorated with simple red, white, and pink ribbons with some balloons attached at the end of some. The crew was already indulging in the food and music that flowed from their musician’s violin. (Y/N) was peeking out from the door that led to below deck, fingers gripping the wood as she looked at the other members. She could see that the food was nearly gone and that everyone had moved on to dancing and enjoying Brook’s music. She clutched the den den mushi in her hands before giving herself a once over. She wore one of her favorite outfits that, coincidentally, was the same color that Sanji would be if he were a color; a blue open shoulder fitted top that cut off right under her chest, a long matching dark blue skirt with colorful feather like designs on the bottom, and, to top it all off, a light blue belt that fitted around the top of the skirt. Her free hand smoothed the fabric of her belly cover, a soft sigh leaving her lips at the small comfort that the fabric provided. Glancing out at the crew once again, she noticed that the blonde wasn’t on deck with the others, making her peek out further.
“My dear (Y/N)-swan~ Why are you hiding over here?” She squeaked and turned her head to look at the blonde that slid in right by her side. His smile made her clutch the den den mushi in her hand and her blood rushed into her cheeks. At her silence, he tilted his head and took the cigarette away from his mouth. “I haven’t seen you all morning. Have you eaten?” At that, he glanced over at the table and he tensed up. “(Y/N)-swan! You haven’t eaten, have you?! Don’t you worry! I’ll make you a meal fit for a queen and I apologize for not noticing earlier! Give me one moment-”
“No!” (Y/N) stepped out from her hiding spot fully, grasping the man’s hand as he had pivoted on his foot to walk away. When he turned to face her again, both of their faces were now beet red. She because his calloused hand felt so nice against her own and he because he got a good look at what she was wearing.
“Wow, (Y/N)-swan… You look-”
“Please don’t go into the kitchen,” she stuttered out. “I… I’m going to dance right now and… it’s dedicated to y-you…” She swore that she could see steam coming out from the top of his head. They stayed quiet once again before he put the cigarette back in his mouth. He squeezed her hand and a bright smile almost blinded her.
“I’ll watch every second, sweet (Y/N). I would wish you good luck but your talent needs no luck.” At his words, she became a flustered mess. She shakily excused herself, hesitating a bit before letting his hand go. Lifting her skirt a bit to jog over to Usopp, who was grinning at her. She placed the den den mushi in his hand and let him figure out the technicalities.
Her crew cheered for what was to come but she closed her eyes to take a breath, confidence rising. The music, a recording that she had saved even before joining the crew, started playing and she opened her eyes to face her audience. Her movements followed the beats, shimmying and hips jutting, throughout the music and the fluttering in her stomach earlier only enhanced her confidence. She struck a final pose as the music ended, the crew cheering as she struggled to catch her breath. Usopp gave her a thumbs up when she took a bow. When she stood straight again, her eyes couldn’t help but drift over to a certain man in the corner of the deck. Her eyes widened as she realized that he was running up to her. Before she could process what was happening, he had scooped her in his arms, eliciting a yelp from her. Instead of tensing up, she melted into his embrace and wrapped her arms around him, feeling him squeeze her. She could feel his breath against her hair and the warmth that emitted from him made her feel like it was a dream.
“Sweet (Y/N)... I’d like to make you a meal and confess something to you as well.” Her heart was racing against her chest but she felt better at feeling his heart going as fast (if not faster) than hers.
“You” AutumnRose ❤️ Long term dating with Sanji scenario/love letter requested by looseautumnleaftea
(That is the ending, your imagination can run wild after that!)
You groaned as the alarm blared into the room and woke you up from your slumber, blindly slapping at the nightstand next to your bed to find your phone. You opened one eye so that you could shut off the annoying sound and then you placed the phone on your pillow. You were already awake but still drowsy enough to where falling back asleep sounded amazing at the moment. You frowned at the coldness next to you instead of the usual warmth you were used to. Your lovely boyfriend wasn’t there to greet you like he did every morning since he decided to take a morning shift at the restaurant so he could spend the holiday with you but you still were pouty that he wasn’t there to cuddle you awake.
Suddenly, the pillow your head was on vibrated relentlessly and you opened both eyes to look at the offending object. You grabbed it reluctantly and looked at the screen, your pouting expression immediately changing into a happy one as you pushed yourself onto your elbows and held the phone securely in both of your hands.
From: Prince Sanji 👑😍
Good morning, my dove!!! Don’t stay in bed for too long! Breakfast on the table will get cold and I wouldn’t want my lovely AutumnRose to starve! I’m surrounded by idiots this morning but it’s all worth it when I get to see you tonight and I can spend all day spoiling my gorgeous girl~ Happy Valentine’s day, I love you~ I’ll see you later! 💕💕💕💕💕💕💕
From: Prince Sanji 👑😍
Oh! Don’t forget to check under your plate! 😘
You rolled your eyes at your boyfriend’s messages but the smile on your face was evident that his cheesy messages were enough to cheer you up. After sending an equally cheesy message, you forced yourself out of bed and stretched your limbs, satisfied enough to let out a groan. You made your way to the kitchen and instantly lit up at the set up in front of you. Sanji had made your favorite breakfast and, of course, he had gone the extra mile to make the food heart shaped. You sat yourself down at the table and were about to dig in before you remembered his text message. You lifted the plate and found a folded pink note with a heart sticker on the side that faced you. You smiled to yourself before taking it and putting the plate down. You smiled as you unfolded it, preparing yourself for the note in your hands.
To my beautiful AutumnRose,
AutumnRose. Two words combined to make the name of my beloved.
Autumn brings about many things that have reminded me of how you have impacted my life just like the season does.
The season obviously brings change and you have changed my lecherous ways. Well, to other women. I can’t help but want you all to myself and immerse myself in your presence and beauty. While women are beautiful in general, none of them can compare to my lovely AutumnRose.
I learn something new every day that we are together. When I think I know everything about you, even after all these years, I still find things that are uniquely you. It’s a mystery to me how Luffy’s dumb impressions still make you laugh, how those silly memes you show me highlight your day, or how heated something you find on your blog makes you. Every moment I’m with you I find something about you that makes me fall completely for you. I know that I will continue to find things out about you in the years to come and, frankly, I look forward to growing with you and being with you to find more quirks of yours.
Autumn brings a sense of comfort and I didn’t think I would find that comfort… until you. I’ve moved around a lot since I was a child, most of the reasons unpleasant. I thought I knew what having a ‘home’ meant. I thought my apartment after moving out of Zeff’s house was home. You remember? That simple apartment with nothing really in it? Just an old couch and a crappy tv. Thinking back on it, the kitchen in that place was my favorite spot while the rest was as dreary as the neighborhood it was in. It wasn’t until after you stayed the night once in that crappy apartment that I realized what home actually meant. You made me feel at home. When you left that morning for work, that apartment was pretty suffocating to be in. I visited you a couple hours later, remember? When I enter our shared apartment, even when you’re not there, I’m at peace because you’re still there, in your small knick knacks and cute decorations that are still up when we first moved in. You are my home and have made me feel like I can be myself with you.
You are a capable, strong, and independent woman but that won’t stop me from feeling like I should protect you from everything that could put you in harm’s way. Be it some sleazy drunkard on the street or that time you spotted a centipede by your car, I’ll always be the one to swoop in and save you! (Or pull you away from the situation before you get yourself into trouble at least). I find myself admiring you and thriving to be the man whose arms you feel the safest in. Truth be told, your arms are the ones I never want to leave. I cannot express how grateful I am that you have been my life preserver on days that I couldn’t keep my head above the water. Know this, darling, as you have been there for me, I will be there for you. To love and support. Always.
And just like a rose, you bloomed into my life and made a new man out of me. Like the petals of the rose, you are soft, delicate, and so many layers beneath you but you also have your thorns, ready to pierce those that get too close without you wanting them to. You let me hold your stem and I have been more than blessed that I can be called yours.
I woke up this morning to your sleeping face and it was a reminder of how lucky I am to have that privilege. On this day of love, I want to show you, the love of my life, how much I adore you. My lovely AutumnRose, you are the best thing that has happened to me. I am yours and you are mine for more years to come, my sweet.
“She” Lenny 💙with Sanji for about 6 months requested by anon
(E/N)- Ex-boyfriend name
The kitchen was filled with the familiar sounds of a spatula scraping and pots and pans sizzling. It wasn’t easy to cook for this motley crew but it was enjoyable, Sanji couldn’t help but think as he used the spatula to evenly spread the ground meat on the pan. He covered the pan with its lid and, although the food was cooking like he expected and everything seemed all right, there was something scratching at the back of his mind. Suddenly, a familiar pair of brown eyes appeared in his memory and he couldn’t help but pout. Lenny, crewmate and the focus of his pining for over a year, had such a sad expression today and the overwhelming need to go over and squeeze her, maybe even cover her face with kisses, until she smiled at him like usual and let out those cute giggles filled his whole being, but he knew he couldn’t do that. The pout on his lips worsened as he thought about how she climbed up to the crow’s nest, vein threatening to pop on his forehead since that damn green haired bastard was up there.
He was snapped out of his thoughts when he heard the soft clink of a lid getting lifted. His response was immediate, a leg sticking out to hit the intruder in the kitchen, prepared for the rubber man, but instead felt the familiar texture of a sheath against his calf. His eyes narrowed at the swordsman who was peeking into the pot, both his leg and sword shaking somewhat from the pressure. No matter how much he wanted to kill the man, dinner was far more important.
“Hands off, idiot! It needs to simmer properly!” Sanji lowered his leg and slammed the lid back on, the other man tucking his sheathe back to his hip and letting out a grunt.
“‘M hungry.” The blonde rolled his eyes at the grumbled response and checked the pans over the clear lids once more.
“It’s done when it’s done. Go somewhere else.”
“Onigiri?”
“You’ll have what I’m making!” It was no secret that the two didn’t get along the best in the crew but even Sanji could hear the extra bite in his voice, making him huff as the swordsman’s nose scrunched up. It was silent, other than the food sizzling, and he found himself getting more and more tense by the intruder in his kitchen. Before he could snap again, Zoro let out a heavy sigh and crossed his arms.
“So, Lenny likes you,” cue the blonde freezing, “and she keeps crying about it,” cue a choking sound coming from his throat. “Can you, like, do something about it?”
Almost robotically, Sanji turned to face the swordsman, meeting the man’s eyes yet he remained silent. After a solid 30 seconds of silence, Zoro shifted his weight from one foot to the other before taking a step back, a small wince on his face.
“You’re creeping me out-”
“If this is some joke-”
“It’s not,” the green haired man glared and turned on his heel, “you’re all she talks about. It’s annoying.” He looked at the blonde from over his shoulder. “My naps keep getting interrupted because of your dumb ass. Get on that, will ya?” He ducked as a leg came flying to his head before slipping out of the kitchen.
The blonde stayed in his spot, eyes glazed over and hands shaking, before the sound of bubbling and whistles filled his ears. After scrambling to the stove and turning the heat down, he sighed with a hand over his chest at seeing that he hadn’t burned dinner. He ran a hand through his hair and, despite his pounding heart and racing thoughts, he put all his focus on keeping the dinner from burning.
Even as the crew shuffled in, even when they all took a seat and dug in, and even when Luffy was using his devil fruit to steal from the plates of the others, Sanji just stared at his plate and spooned his meal into his mouth, his taste buds barely registering the taste. It wasn’t until a small giggle made his ears perk up. The wonderful sound that he hadn’t heard in a while made his head shoot up and look towards a particular part of the table. There she was. The small and adorable nurse of the Straw Hat pirates. She was giggling behind her raised hand at the marimo slapping the outstretched hand of his captain trying to steal his meal. Even when the girl had returned to her meal and conversation, Sanji’s eyes stayed on her, his cheek resting on his palm. It wasn’t until he felt another pair of eyes on him that he gazed away from the brown eyed beauty to meet eyes with the man that sat next to her. They stared before the man threw back his mug of sake and returned to his defense against the idiot captain.
His gaze moved and he almost choked on nothing when he met soft brown eyes looking at him. The soft blush across Lenny’s cheeks sent his heart into overdrive and he almost fell off his seat when she waved discreetly at him with a small smile, absolutely shattering him. That’s it, he thought to himself as he turned away to grip at his chest, enough’s enough.
“Lenny-swan, please wait.” She stopped in her tracks, looking at him from over her shoulder and sending Sanji’s heart through his ribcage. She helped him clean up and wash dishes but the tension between them was thick enough to cut with a knife. Even Luffy felt a chill down his spine and left the kitchen (embarrassingly after he loudly proclaimed about how weird the two of them were being). Sanji was having a breakdown while Lenny just smiled at him and fully turned to face him, taking a step forward to him.
“Yes? Did we forget to clean something up?” She asked, turning her head side to side to scan the room.
‘Oh, gods. Please stop with how cute you are!’ He mentally pleaded, turning around to grasp at his chest while his other hand landed on the table to lean against it. He felt a tap against his shoulder and the small voice he adored to listen to spoke up again.
“S-Sanji? You okay?” Her small hand was now against his forehead, making the skin under her palm heat up. “You are a bit warm… Let’s go to the infirmary and I can give you a proper checkup-” Before she could pivot on her heel, Sanji reached out and captured her hand. Both of them were red in the face but that didn’t stop him from gently tugging her to him so she was no longer halfway towards the door but facing him instead. It was silent for a moment before he finally took a sharp breath in and intertwined his fingers with the blushing girl in front of him.
“Lenny,” she looked into his eyes, her own wide and looking directly into his. That’s when he realized that he hadn’t added his signature honorific, “… I have this weight on my shoulders that will crush me if I don’t tell you about it.” He cursed himself at how quiet he was being. His brain screamed at him to get it together and out there but his heart was in his throat, making his words come out more choked out than he wanted. Despite the blush on her face, Lenny’s expression contorted into one of worry and she squeezed his hand. Cute.
“Sanji… W-What’s going on?” He knew that he shouldn’t keep a lady waiting but he couldn’t help himself in scanning her features. Although it had been a couple hours after his chat with the swordsman, he could still see the slight puffiness in her face and the red tint on the tip of her nose and the skin under her eyes. She looked more tired than he’s ever seen her. He didn’t like it. If he took the word of that idiot, then this expression on her face… was due to him. He had to fix it. It was his responsibility after all. A soft call of his name snapped him out of his thoughts. He took a moment to lift his free hand and cover their intertwined ones, setting her cheeks ablaze.
“My dear Lenny… Ever since you joined our crew, I’ve had such strong feelings for you. I wouldn’t be surprised if you didn’t believe me. But, at this moment, I hope my genuine feelings reach you. There isn’t a moment that I’m not thinking about you and I’ve been a coward until now. I… Care about you- No, that’s not the right word. I… I love you, Lenny.” She stiffened as the last words left his mouth in a soft whisper. He hated how tears filled her eyes and made her beautiful brown eyes glossy but, even with his thoughts racing around his mind, he couldn’t turn back now.
“S-Sanji…” Her cracking voice made him grip her hand tighter before he took a breath and continued.
“I can’t imagine the pain that you’ve gone through with (E/N),” at his name, he watched her eyes widen before softening and a few tears slipped, “and I know how much he meant to you. I don’t ever want to replace the spot in your heart for him nor do I want to convince you that giving me a chance will fill the void that you may still have. However, it’s not fair to you or I to keep our feelings bottled up so I decided to tell you how I feel…”
He carefully raised her hand to his lips, bending slightly so he could press his lips against her knuckles. He then moved her hand so that her palm was right over his racing heart and both of his hands covered her much smaller one.
“If you give me a chance, I’ll be your lover when you want me to be but, more importantly, I'll be your friend during the times you need me the most.” A soft smile lifted his lips as her hand shook against his and she bit her lip with more tears slipping past. “I need you to know how I feel about you. No matter how you feel about me, I will always be your friend first and foremost.”
He let one hand reach forward and gently wipe the tears that slipped past, warmth spreading across his cheeks as she closed her eyes and leaned into the slight touch. Silence filled the air between them and, although his heart was racing so fast that it might have flown out of his chest, he wasn’t afraid at what her response would be. Would he be the happiest man on the whole ocean if she loved him back? Of course! But his friendship with her was the most important thing to him so, as a true gentleman, he would respect what she decided-
Oh. Her arms around him feel really nice and how she squeezed him was something he had only imagined. Did you hear that in the distance? His heart has soared into the sky like a firework.
Bonus:
If he was asked, he would deny it and probably cut someone in half. But, in his own thoughts, he was safe to admit that he was finally relieved. Although the cook was more annoying now, Zoro was relieved that he didn’t have to comfort or be in the middle of the two pining members of his crew. He yawned widely walking past the couple to head up to the crow’s nest. He climbed up the ladder, more than excited to take his nap, when he noticed something on the bench that was covered with a napkin. He raised an eyebrow and stepped over, plopping next to the thing. He jabbed it carefully before lifting the napkin away and placing it to the side. There were two onigiris, one in the regular triangular shape and the other in a circular shape with a smiley made out of the same seaweed that both were wrapped in. A small smirk made its way on his face. He wouldn’t complain to a snack before a nap.
“You” Amy ❤️ 3 year relationship with Sanji requested by anon
it’s not a big deal. No big deal at all. It’s just a question. Well, a proposal but still a simple question. A question that would determine the rest of his life with the person he loved the most… oh no, he was spiraling. He shook his head and took his hands off of the vegetables he was washing, making them drop in the colander that was sitting at the bottom of the sink, and slapped his cheeks to gain his sanity back. He went back to washing the vegetables before placing the colander in its entirety on top of the cutting board. Once he was done with dinner, he thought to himself, he would get started on his plan for the night. The night where he would ask you that question. Why was he overthinking it? It was just a yes or no question… although, one answer would send him to the moon and the other…. well, he hoped it wouldn’t destroy him. What if you did say no? Would you be able to continue the bond the two of you had developed in the last 3 years? What if it wouldn’t be the same? What if you chose to leave him?! Was this really the make or break moment?! Oh no, his heart couldn’t handle it if that was the case-
“Oi, shitty cook. I’m the one who’s supposed to cut you up.” Sanji jumped slightly at the voice behind him and he snapped out of his daze, right as the knife almost came down on his fingers. With his fast reflexes he was able to avoid the blade, ignoring the smirk on the seaweed head’s face. Despite avoiding any cuts, he still checked his fingers just in case there were any cuts. He sighed in relief; cuts on his fingers would have ruined the night, he couldn’t help but think. He turned to look at the ship’s swordsman and he felt his eye twitch and he glared at seeing what was in the man’s hand.
“Where did you get that?!” He yelled, making the man look at the rice ball before taking a bite.
“Late reaction. This is my second one. You were spacing out like an idiot.” Was his muffled response between chewing. Sanji sighed and ran a hand through his hair, careful of the hair covering his eye. He didn’t need to argue with this idiot on top of all his stress.
“Just get out already. And quit eating those. Dinner’s coming up.” He murmured, turning back so he could put the vegetables on the oiled covered pan that had been on low for a while now so the vegetables sizzled as they hit the pan. He didn’t notice how the swordsman’s eyebrow raised or how he tossed the last bite of the rice ball into his mouth. Before he could spiral into his thoughts again, he heard the annoying voice come up again.
“I brought that box from your hammock up to the crow’s nest.” He wasn’t expecting that. He turned to look at the swordsman, who was looking at the rice balls that were sitting on the counter.
“Wait, you did?” Sanji felt a grin come onto his lips without him being able to stop it. “So, does that mean-”
“Yeah, yeah. I’ll switch with ya. Just don’t make it a regular thing, got it? And quit grinning like that.” Zoro’s words didn’t piss him off like usual and actually made him giddier inside. He turned back to the pan and grabbed the handle to start flipping the vegetables. His other hand grabbed the plate of rice balls and held it out.
“I appreciate it, marimo.” He earned a grumble in response but the plate was taken out of his hand. As he added seasonings to the vegetables, he heard the door open and the brief noise of the crew on deck before it closed again. A small weight was lifted off his shoulders but, when his hand brushed against his pocket and he felt the box, that weight was back. He sighed. Oh well.
You weren’t sure what was going on with your boyfriend but you were definitely worried. Sanji was being really weird today. He was jumpy and stuttering around you, something that you had only seen a couple of times. You wanted to get him alone and talk about it but he would just smile at you, which made you melt, and tell you that he was fine. It was also bizarre that he declined your help of washing the dishes after dinner since the two of you would usually just talk for hours, even when the dishes were put away in cabinets.
You had just finished your bath and were drying your hair when you saw Zoro walking down the hallway, yawning. You raised your hand to greet him only to be immediately confused.
“Hey, Zoro?” You called out before he could enter the boys’ cabin. With his hand on the door, he looked over his shoulder at you, grunting. “I thought you were on night shift tonight.”
He yawned again before replying, “Curly brow asked to switch. Don’t really know why.” He went into the boys’ room, leaving you confused in the hallway. You stepped back into the bathroom to put the towel that was used to dry your hair into the hamper. You stepped out onto the deck and looked towards the kitchen, pouting when you saw that the lights in the kitchen were off. You did a 360 degree turn to try and find your love.
“Ah, evening, Amy~” You stopped mid turn and saw that the voice that called out to you was the skeleton musician. You smiled and walked over to where Brook was tuning his violin, the grass under your bare feet tickling you slightly.
“Evening, Brook! Have you seen Sanji?” Using the violin’s bow, he pointed up to the crow’s nest, making you tilt your head up to follow the direction. Lights were shining around the nest, dimmer than usual but they still illuminated the windows. You grinned before saying a quick ‘thank you’ and climbing up to the nest. The first notes of Brook’s violin suddenly surrounded you and you almost stumbled, you and Sanji’s song. You hesitated in climbing up and heat rushed your cheeks. Hold on, you shouldn’t jump to conclusions. Maybe it was just a coincidence. You took a breath and climbed the rest of the way up. You pushed the hatch door up and poked your head up, looking around.
“Sanji, where-” Your words died in your throat and your eyes widened as you looked around at the crow’s nest. “What…”
The dimness that you saw from deck came from strings of lights that you recognized were usually only taken out for holidays and one of the windows was cracked open so you could hear Brook still playing. You climbed up and closed the hatch before standing up and looking around still. You noticed that any gym equipment that was up there was gone and there was a small circular table set up near the bench by the windows. Stepping closer to the table, the items on the table were illuminated by a candle softly flickering in the middle of it. Your heart raced as you looked at the food on the table; chocolate covered strawberries, strawberry powder puffs, an assortment of truffles, and two glasses, one looked like it was a mixed drink with a couple fruits sticking on the rim and the other looked like there was champagne in it. You smiled softly to yourself as the carpet had scattered flower petals and small paper hearts were on the table cloth. You suddenly heard the hatch and then a squeak that sounded closer to a shriek.
“A-Amy-swan! W-What are you- Y-You weren’t supposed to- I-I was looking for you!” You turned to look at where the hatch was and watched your boyfriend climb up. You noticed that he was wearing his best suit, the one that fit him perfectly and sent your heart racing. Both your faces were red from being flustered but you could only think about how happy you were.
“Sanji, what is all of this?” At your words, he sighed softly but smiled, a shaky smile but a smile nonetheless. He stepped forward and held your hands in his.
“I love you.” You blushed at the sudden words but felt yourself grin, his expression softening and smiling at you with a slight tilt of his head.
“I love you too.” You chirped, blushing a bit more when he leaned forward to press a kiss on your forehead. You were suddenly hyper aware of his hands shaking in yours and you grew concerned when you met eyes with his.
“Amy…” You felt your face was on fire at his low tone and how he said your name without the honorific. “I really love you. So much.”
Your eyes widened when he let your hands go to get down on one knee. You had an inkling that this was why he was so weird all day and it explained all of this. Even so, tears filled your eyes and you covered your mouth with your shaking hands. He seemed to scramble a bit when he looked through his pocket but he took a breath and took the box out. He looked up at you and, from the flickering of the candle, you could see his visible eye tearing up.
“I love you. So much. You’ve become my whole world and I can’t imagine not being with you. I don’t even want to imagine it. I’d be honored… No, blessed if you would stay by my side from here on out… There’s no way that words can explain the love I have for you but I’m hoping you’ll let me show you from now on... “ His face suddenly turned red and he shaky fingers opened the lid. “W-Will you marry-?”
You threw yourself at him, wrapping your arms around his neck and pressing your lips against his. He stiffened at the sudden movement but, after a moment to collect his composure, he wrapped his arms around your waist and kissing back. You pulled away much too early for him and pressed kisses all over his face, murmuring ‘yes’ over and over. His arms tightened around your waist and he grinned, sighing in relief. He was able to grab your hand through your onslaught of kisses, stopping you for the moment, so that he could slide the ring onto your finger. Although you said yes, his fingers were still shaking and you let out a shaky giggle. You cupped his face and wiped at the tear that fell from his eye before kissing him again. Damn, he was in love with you so much.
You've heard me saying that smoking was my only vice
But now it isn't true
Now everything is new
And all I've learned has overturned
I beg of you
With his eyes glancing at anything but you, Sanji took an inhale of the cigarette between his fingers. Smoke filled the room with his exhale and he tapped the ash against the ashtray, other cigarette buds still simmering in the cinders. His self-restraint wavered as curiosity gnawed at his chest and his eyes found themselves back on you. He felt like a toddler about to be scolded for drawing on the walls or something similar with the raised eyebrow that you sent his way. Your stare would usually make him blush for a completely different reason but instead of the usual flustered redness, it was shame. His eyes darted back to the cigarette between his fingers.
You, on the other hand, were trying to keep the smile down from your lips. If your lovely boyfriend was a puppy, you were sure that his ears would be flat against his head and his tail would be between his legs. Usually, you didn’t like having him struggle but he had to know that he crossed a line. His jealousy was something you were familiar with and occasionally found adorable. It was too much when he physically grabbed your captain off of the hug he gave you and hit his head like when the rubber man tries to steal meat. From the look in his eyes, you could see how regret filled his entire being in that moment. Now, the two of you sat in silence in the kitchen for about 10 minutes. For the cook, it might as well have been hours.
You knew him too well because, the moment he was about to raise the cigarette to his lips, your hand covered his. You took the smoke out of his fingers and put it out against the ashtray, letting the now extinguished stick fall with the rest of its fallen brothers. Your other hand cupped his chin and turned it so his eyes met yours. He felt his face heat up exponentially with you so close to him now. Your lips tugged into a smirk and you leaned forward even closer, your lips brushing against his trembling ones.
“Darling.” You cooed gently, noticing how he so desperately wanted to close the gap between the two of you. He let out a soft sound that was similar to a whimper and it made your smirk into a smile. He really was a puppy sometimes.
“I-I was in the wrong, wasn't I?” He murmured, causing you to hum and bump the tip of your nose against his.
“Yes. Yes you were. Luffy should be the last one that should trigger your jealousy.” You teased, feeling the exhale of his breath against your lips, a smokey exhale.
“I’ll apologize to him.” He mumbled before sighing again. His eyes closed and you could see the embarrassment that covered his handsome features. You tilted his head so your lips met his properly and pulled away after his stiffened form relaxed.
“I’m not going anywhere, idiot. So tone it down.” His flushed face was now not of shame but back to happiness at your words. His nod made you laugh and press another kiss to his lips.
(My apologies, I wrote this for just Sanji instead of with an s/o just because I thought it fit better. Spoilers for Sanji’s past so be wary)
There’s no desire I hold fonder
Than to be, simply me, to be free
The only sounds in the dark dungeon were the water droplets falling from the damp bricks and the shaky sobs of the young child locked in the cell. His hands, small and shaking, weakly pushed against the chin of the helmet he was wearing, tears sliding down his eyes and between his cheeks and the metal. Sanji was used to the punishment, used to the abuse, used to the insults, and used to the dark. Why was he so weak compared to his siblings? Why did his father hate him so much that he was doomed to be in this dark prison? His hands fell from the helmet and his head succumbed to the weight. Pain spread across the back of his head as he fell back against the cold bricks. He stared at the cracked ceiling, eyes now accustomed to the dark and stinging from the tears that had been shed for so long.
He thought of his mother and that made his lips tilt slightly but more tears slipped. He thought of her golden hair and her bright smile, one that he missed dearly. The image of her was the only reminder to the young boy that darkness was not the only thing in his life. He yearned to see her again; his sun. He yearned to be in the light again and out of the cell he found himself in.
After a couple of hours, he had cried himself dry and numbness found its home in his joints. He had already known so much pain in his young life that he wondered if this was what life was; one that was filled with pain and suffering. His eyes shut behind the helmet and he let a whimper bounce off the prison cell. How he craved to be in the kitchen and improve a meal that his mother would have been proud of. How he craved to visit her grave at least once. How he craved… just to be free. Just to be in the face of the sun. To be surrounded by people that loved him and found his presence to be worth something. He moved his hands from his sides and looked at his palms through the darkness. All he could do was wish and dream an end to his suffering.
