Korra is not a Mary-Sue. "Oh-so-perfect" Jinora and Opal are both much more overrated and displeasing imo.

Opal is such a consolation prize of a character. If they had dropped whatever that was with Bolin and instead built up more about her complicated relationship with Toph or burgeoning connection with Jinora she might've been interesting, but it feels weird to say that because Opal was definitely only ever created for the Bolin thing in the first place and it shows.
