“I’m gonna make sure all of you get matching bruises if you all keep doing that.” I flush, eating the offered piece of food. It felt nice to be coddled by him, but to have an annoying audience in front of us was just plain embarrassing. “But I’ll make you something too okay? It won’t be as good but it’ll be edible I promise.” I said to Akaashi, giving him a reassuring smile. The bell rings in the distance, signaling the end of lunch.

"You don't need to make anything for me, Opal. Besides, I'm cooking for you tomorrow so don't you dare bringing anything." He protested as he stood up from his spot, gathering all his things to go back to class after the break. "Hey, I was going to make a cake for my little sister's birthday. Do you want to join me? It could be fun." He suggested before going into the classroom.

I grabbed onto both his shoulders and gave him a determined look. “Don’t joke with me Akaashi. If you do this for me, then I’ll never eat anyone’s food ever again. They won’t even compare.” I stated seriously. I turned to the rest of the circle. “How come you guys never had his food? Are actually you serious?”

Konoha: “We have had it, but he’s not our boyfriend so for us it’s just food.”

Komi: “Which means his food is just normal but you’re just very in love with everything he does~”

The guys joked around, making Akaashi feel a little bit embarrassed. He really thought his food wasn’t that great, but you reacted so well to it that he thought you really must like him a lot. “I will make one more bento tomorrow then, I’m happy you enjoy it. I will put extra effort for yours.” He smiled at you offering one more bite of his food and feeding it to you while the rest of the boys said things like ‘aw so leavely~’.

“Yeah!” I smiled and leaned over, taking a bite from his lunch. It was a flavor of explosion in my mouth and never had I felt so blessed to experience such an amazing thing. I almost wanted to cry. “OH MY GOD,” I chewed slowly, trying to savor the flavor. “THIS IS AMAZING. THIS IS BETTER THAN ALL THE MEALS IVE HAD IN MY MERE EXISTENCE. HOW DID YOU LEARN HOW TO DO THIS?”

Everyone turned to look at you with wide eyes, even Akaashi. “I-is that so? It’s not that good, I mean, I’m not the best cook.” He laughs a little bit. “My mom taught me a few things since she’s always busy, I mostly cook for myself at home. Do you really like it that much? If you want I can make something for you tomorrow.”

“Well at least he has a girlfriend Konoha.” I joked, but secretly getting annoyed at their antics towards Akaashi. I felt extremely guilty that the poor guy had to be picked on for this. I just wanted to see how the rest of his fruends were like! WHY DID I EVEN SUGGEST THIS? ME AND MY BIG MOUTH- I DIDNT think he take my suggestion seriously. But Bokuto’s comment about him wanting to be alone with me did bring a blush to my face. (1/2)

I leaned over to whisper in Akaashi’s ear. “We should just leave if you want. This was a bad idea.” (2/2)

Konoha blinked a few times, surprised at the comeback, while Akaashi smiled oddly proud of his girlfriend for shuting his mouth. When you whispered in his ear though, he flinched a little bit, not expecting the sudden closeness while the other guys snickered at the lovey-dovey couple. “It’s okay, Opal. Sadly enough, this are actually my friends, so we’ll have to put up with them anyway.” He joked, feeling a little bit better now. Luckily, after teasing you for enough time, the others had started having their own conversations, and Akaashi and you were free to have a little bit of your own time. “Do you wanna try?” he said offering you from his food. “I made it myself.”

Akaashi’s eagerness surprised me. This morning, I mentally had to keep telling myself that last night wasn’t a dream, that he had kissed me and wanted to be my boyfriend. The whole concept sounds insane, I KNOW! But now he’s here with the biggest on his face, which could rival all the suns in the universe COMBINED AND MULTIPLIED. I nodded and got up from my seat, grinning like an idiot.

“Hmm probably the rooftop? It’s really nice out and nobody will bother us. But won’t Bokuto and the team wonder why you aren’t eating with them? We should just hang with them.” (2/2) (sorry forgot to add the number tag!)

Akaashi’s smile faded a little bit at the mention of the others, making it seem as if you didn’t want to be alone with him. “Yeah, I guess we could…”

When you both joined the others, you all went to the rooftop. This was definitely not what he expected when he asked you for lunch yesterday, but now he had to deal with the rest of the teammates being loud and teasing him.

Konoha: “So… You’re dating now huh?” He asked so suddenly that Akaashi almost chocked in his food.

Bokuto: “Yeah didn’t you say you would eat with her today and you wouldn’t eat with us, Akaashi?”

The setter glanced at you, a little bit embarrassed about the questions. He knew it wasn’t a good idea to be all together.

Akaashi: “Well, she said we should eat with you…” he answered and everyone looked at you with a curious expression.

Konoha: “So basically she didn’t want to be alone with you. Ah Akaashi, I bet you’re too awkward when you’re alone with her!” he joked and started laughing, but Akaashi just frowned a little bit, continuing to chomp his food.

my eyes read the message with kiddish glee, making me squeal into my hand. I rapidly typed back: ‘Yeah!! Does this qualify as our first date 🤔’

He laughed reading your message and typed back quickly. ‘If having food on a school bench sounds like a date to you, then I guess it is. I would like our first date to be a little bit more interesting though.’

The next day he looked for you at lunch break and waved his food in front of your desk. “Ready for our date?” He joked with a big smile on his face. “Where do you want to go to eat?”

Every kiss he planted on my felt like a surge of euphoria on my skin. I didn’t want him to stop but the sky had eventually darkened to the point where the streetlights came on. It took all my strength to pull away, still smiling like a lovestruck fool. “Fine, only because you’re cute.” I mused, I let my hand linger on his cheek for a moment before turning away. (1/2)

“W-Wait.” I went back to him and stole another kiss, catching him off guard.  “Goodnight.” I said before running inside, closing the door behind me. I slid my back down against the wooden frame and covered my dreamy face with my hands. Did that really just happen? Hopefully he didn’t think I was a bad kisser. (2/2)

Akaashi chuckled once more, seeing you close the door behind you. He stared at it for a moment, before turning around and starting to walk with the smile still big on his face. He couldn’t belive that actually happened.

When he got home he took his phone out quickly typing on it, sending you a message that read: ‘I’m glad you asked me to walk you home. If you hadn’t this wouldn’t have happened. Do you want to have lunch together tomorrow?’

“Y-You’re supposed to hold on to the things you like.” I said, giving him a goofy grin. He looked gorgeous with that small smile of his and it made my heart flutter that I was the one here who could witness it. “I’ve been liking you for so long that it was about time that I said something,” I played with the collar of his uniform, getting bashful. “Thank you for kissing me first because sure as hell I’m a giant coward.”

“Cute.” He chuckled lightly. “You weren’t such a coward when you suddenly put my hand in your chest though. What was that?” He laughed whole heartedly this time, kissing your forehead. “I hope this means we’re now dating, right?” Another kiss. He couldn’t stop himself now, it was too good to not do it, he couldn’t resist it. “Okay, it’s getting late. You should go inside.” He kissed you one more time.
