Don't mess with the local criptid. That goes unsaid in most places, yet the larger the city, the more over confident they get in their selves. In their ownership of the land. When the governer had suggested clearing some of the woods to make room for new buildings, a few of the older citizens had warned against it. They said the forest was soaked in ancient magic, powers beyond human knowledge. They were, of course, ignored and dismissed.
The loggers were sent out, and returned with ghost tales about the forest coming alive at night. About the darkness and the cold, and the whispers of angery spirits. Yet, this did not diswade them. The governer told the loggers not to scare the townfolk and to camp farther from the woods.
There is a limit, it turns out, to how much damage you can do before the local criptid comes out to deal with the problem theirself. The skull mask said the being was a sorceror, but they used far different powers. With a whisper and a clap of thunder, they caused vines to sprout from the ground, wripping apart both man and tool mercilessly.
They are stopped by the one that approached them directly. Taking the risk, or perhaps unafraid. They lower their hands, letting the vines fall to the ground, waiting for the stranger to speak.
Muse: Aden Sharpe, a bastard-born crime lord who's clawed his way to power. He’s controlled, territorial, and isn’t afraid to spill blood.
Open to: F/M, M/M, enemies to lovers, power dynamics, slow burn, angst - gimme, gimme, gimme.
Plot: Your muse rides into conflict on his territory without warning, bringing trouble with them.
Aden caught the horses reins before it reared fully. One hand tightened around them, whilst the other braced against the saddle to steady it. The animal snorted, stamping against the narrow road. It was restless. No doubt from all the noise behind them. Shouting, steel clashing, it was all too close for comfort.
“Hold it.” He muttered, more to the horse than her. The horse settled, barely. Only then did he look to her seated atop the beast.
“The hell were you thinking?” He snapped, stepping back just enough to meet her properly. “Riding out like that. No word, no guard. Straight into the middle of it all?”
plot summary: a nice mixture of this post and this post. basically kier has manipulated y/m mind (could be they attempted to attack his kingdom, maybe they were someone he hunted in his woods, or they were a prisoner, i'll leave this up to you!) , making it difficult for your muse to re-adjust to life once they escaped him. but now kier has been haunting their dreams, beckoning them to return to him and the pull is stronger than y/m cares to admit. Pretty much give kier someone to manipulate

KIER HADN'T EXPECTED THEM TO BEND so easily, to succumb to the distress he had sent to plague their mind. Then again, those who were not familiar with what he could do where doomed to fall victim to it. Still, to come seeking him so quickly, so willingly, it was enough to make the night king smile. And here they were, stumbling into his throne room, eyes searching for him. Kier stood slowly and descended the steps, the movement echoing off of the dark walls of the room as he came to stand in front of them. They reached up, clutching his clothing with shaking hands as he knelt in front of them, dark eyes meeting theirs. A twisted smile spreads over his lips as his hand cups the side of their face gently, like a mother comforting a frightened child.
"You must be exhausted, crawling to me in this state." He mused. Kier's voice held no malice, only guidance as if beckoning them into the dark. "How fickle your mind must be, do break so easily for me." Kier praised. He pulled them into his chest, enveloping them into a hug. He didn't do this to comfort them, he was not interested in that. He was interested only in their devotion to him. When he pulled back, framing their face with his hands, he raised their head so their eyes would meet and he offered another smile. "No one suffers as beautifully as you." He murmured.
Their father would have been disappointed with them. All those lessons about natural lighting, how to bring flesh to life on the canvas, flower arrangements... Anneke's brush had only ever been meant to attract a husband - an indulgement on their father's side, an amusing interest that none-the-less should always remain toothless. They were meant to depict vases, a suitable sunset, a glory of cascading silk.
They were perhaps less meant to spend hours on hours working only in reds, painstakingly teasing out carnage and murder on the cool, grey stone. It was only half-heartedly disguised as still-life, there was a rose or two... some tulips soaking in blood on a white table cloth - but the better part of the mural was spilled intestines and skewered stag heads.
They stood back now, taking it all in. It was gigantic, taller than Anneke themself, an imposing feast of vermillion and garnet that spread out across a whole wall. They smiled, cheeks flushed, and staggered a little - suddenly remembering that they had been here for hours, and that the mortal coil they inhabited might need something to eat.
Anneke has been lost in their art and suddenly comes to, realizing that their motif is hardly proper. I imagine this in perhaps a grand hall. Y/M could be the person who has ordered the mural - or its someone passing by late at night, catching the catastrophe before anyone else has a chance to. Period or fantasy verse. Open to mutuals and non-mutuals. 25+ players please.
Misericordia wasn't even expecting a visitor in her court today or bursting into her war room as she planned her attack against Kassandros, again, for what felt like the ninth billionth time. "I haven't had anyone come in and disturb me for centuries," she said, slowly turning around to face the intruder. "I hope you don't think you'll leave out of here alive or get a thing from me. I'm not one of those pesky dragons you can seduce with words and whatnot."
Tara leaned in, gently breaching the distance and silence that had reigned between herself and her intended. Came almost close enough for breath to tickle at a neck, for words to brush against an ear.
She was almost entirely obscured by thick silk lace, her hazel eyes a glimmer of green through the lattice. Drenched in wedding pearls and snowy folds, the only accommodation to her own spirit was her hands - peeking out from beneath the bright gown, brown and soft, her fingertips dipped in red and henna filigree snaking up from her knuckles towards her wrist. A splash of color in this arid, cold stone temple and the sarcophagus of her pale dress.
Still, she reached - for him. For something. Union, at least, against this farce? Her voice thin beneath the arching ceilings, as both of them waited for the great doors to open and for the ceremony to begin.
Tara's safety and life is on the line; her womanhood has come into question in high society, transphobia runs rampant, and the Anand family has scrambled to find her a husband that can protect her (and perhaps put an end to the speculations). She is being wedded to Y/M who is a friend to the family, knows the particulars, and has extended this courtesy for reasons unknown. Period or fantasy verse. Open to male or masc-presenting muses. 25+ players please.
