"You are supposed to be resting. It will do you no good to undo all of the healing by walking around before you are ready." Still, Elrond pulled up a chair beside his own for them to sit with him. "Does the pain still linger?"

"You are supposed to be resting. It will do you no good to undo all of the healing by walking around before you are ready." Still, Elrond pulled up a chair beside his own for them to sit with him. "Does the pain still linger?"
Open Lord Elrond
In most recent years there always seemed to be some traveller or another who's feet lead them to Rivendell. Elrond was inclined to convince himself it was the lure of true calm and timelessness that brought people to his door. A quick assessment and he chose to speak in the common tongue to avoid any chance of miscommunications, such as what had initially happened with the company of Thorin not all too long ago.
"If you seek rest, recovery and peace then you will find your arrival here as welcomed and help will be offered if you have need." He promised without a smile, solemn in his delivery but no less genuine in doing so, Elrond did not suffer fools, time wasters nor foe's in disguise for all too long. "Any intention beyond the humblest of needs of peace and shelter should be left on that side of the bridge. For such a heart will find no solace here."
