"Indie" ή "Independent" χαρακτηρίζονται ένα σύνολο βιντεοπαιχνιδιών, τα οποία δημιουργούνται από ανεξάρτητους προγραμματιστές διαθέτοντας περιορισμένες πηγές κατά την δημιουργία τους.  Ο όρος ξεκίνησε να χρησιμοποιείται περίπου στα μέσα της προηγούμενης δεκαετίας  για την περιγραφή ενός ρεύματος βιντεοπαιχνιδιών που κύριο χαρακτηριστικό τους ήταν η υιοθέτηση μιας ρετρό αισθητικής με pixelated γραφικά από τα παλαιότερης γενιάς παιχνίδια. Συνήθως οι δημιουργοί τους δεν συνεργάζονται με μεγάλους εκδότες ή αν συνεργαστούν διατηρούν την δημιουργική τους ελευθερία, ενώ η καλλιτεχνική διαδικασία παραμένει η ίδια. Το παρόν blog δημιουργήθηκε κατά την διάρκεια του μαθήματος Ιστορία της Ψηφιακής Τέχνης και ξεκίνησε ως μια συζήτηση για τα indie παιχνίδια και το πως εντάσσονται στον χώρο της ψηφιακής τέχνης.

A New Blog

I never know what to write for an opening statement, for anything it usually takes some time and thought, but for the sake of this blog I want to try and make all my posts be as unfiltered and honest as possible. So no major editing or long thought processes of how things should be written. Just real simple posts about my experiences, as well as any life tips, or hacks as they are now called, I may stumble upon and could benefit you.

Other than this post, most will likely be more to the point and simple, but for my opening post I figured I would iterate what you can find in this blog and hopefully help you decide if following my blog will be worth your time or not. I am on my final semester of my undergraduate degree and decided while walking to school today that I wanted to try and document some of things that I experience and come across this final semester, as well as what happens afterwards. So insert decision to create a new tumblr blog, and one that isn't solely for the purpose of re-posting fun things found on other people's blogs that I want to keep.

So stay tuned for what is to come and hopefully I can help anyone else out there that is on the last leg of their current school career as well.

Truth, like all things, is relative. In fact, we can have varying opinions on the truth of most matters, and all of these opinions would be correct, and truth's relativity will always be the only unyielding, universal truth.

And what is more debatable than internet truths? What I write on this blog comes from the deep, hidden recesses of my mind that only the freedom of anonymity can bring to light. Yet, as an anonymous blogger, every word I've typed in the name of truth can be traced back to deceit. In some ways, I suppose I'm exploiting every person that contributes to my ideas here. For that, I am truly sorry.

I will tell you my truths; but I am, regrettably, a liar.
