! Yo ok. Ninten's hat, was it a present? How in specific did he get it?? ))
OH BOY.
Now that’s a long story according to my HC but here you go:
When Ninten was a kid (like more kid than now, because now he’s only half kid kind of) and his dad was around a lot more, they used to go to a lot of baseball games and practices together. They had a lot of father-son time, and that’s pretty great.
Then dad got an advancement and that meant more work hours and less family time, which meant less baseball games and less time spent playing catch after dinner.
Now, there was this red and blue hat that Ninten had always wanted and pointed out to his father, but it was rather expensive at the time, and he’d wanted to pass down his own used baseball cap to Ninten because of fatherly reasons. Ninten didn’t want that hat, because he wanted something more unique. So on the night before his first day of work in his new position, Ninten’s father went out and got that red and blue hat and wrapped it up for the morning, because he’d probably be leaving early.
Ninten considers it the best gift ever and wears it all hours of the day, sometimes even when sleeping. It’s pretty much the only physical keepsake Ninten has of his father.
