Okay so

Operation Crossover takes place after the events of CC/GF. This means that there'll be more Zoids in it; newer ones. Like the ones in New Century Zero. I need more variety to work with otherwise everyone will have the same Zoid and that's no fun.

THE BEGINNING OF THE FIC THAT I HAVEN'T A TITLE FOR.

LET'S CALL IT OPERATION CROSSOVER FOR NOW.

So they were at it again. The Empire and the Republic were at odds, threatening to declare war on each other. There wasn’t a clear answer to how it started; perhaps it was just tradition. There needn’t be a reason for rivalry, it merely sparked anew whenever it wanted. Not even the Guardian Force could talk them out of it. This situation called for action, not words. So far, nothing significant had yet occurred. No battles, no meetings, just tense silence that dragged on for about a year. The Empire, however, was going through its own troubles; its monarch was on the verge of death, and his successor was hardly interested in ruling the kingdom. Not only that, but he was usually not around the capital city, nor did he concentrate on his future duties. All this conspired to give the monarch’s regent more than enough reason to claim the throne for himself. Surely, he would stop at nothing to rule the Empire once its current leader passed on. A little bratty child would not get in his way, either. As for the Republic, they had no real issues. Maybe a bit short on manpower and funds to provide proper equipment, but really nothing pressing. The Guardian Force was doing the best, not surprisingly. After so many years since its formation, the Guardian Force was still the group to call in for just about anything. Its members were mostly Republic or Imperial soldiers, since it was formed by both the Republic and Empire, or those trained exclusively for service in the Force. Brilliant scientists and researchers also worked directly in and for the group. If ever war were to break out, the Guardian Force would definitely be in the middle of it. In order to secure peace, they too would have to wage war against two of the most powerful forces of the land.
