Genuine query: wouldn't it be more of a tribute to Cote to give all the money to a charity near and dear to her heart instead of potentially spending several thousand dollars on one newspaper ad? I would - indeed I might yet - give money to charity as a thank you. I'm _not_ in the BBC campaign, but I like her and will miss her. However, I definitely won't support spending thousands of dollars on the next day's chip paper. I can't fathom that as a tribute at all, and don't understand the logic.
I've seen a lot of discussion over this, and I personally think both the newspaper idea and the charity donations are great ideas in their own ways.
The ad - well, that would be huge. I imagine it's not easy getting something on the cover of a paper as huge as the one they're using, especially if this much money is required. I think it must be an amazing feeling for anyone to see their face on front page for a great reason, such as a thank you for all her hard work, rather than just news and controversy about the fact that she is no longer on the show.
Of course, while I believe it would put a smile on Cote's face, (and her fans as well,) donating to her favorite charity is a terrific idea too. Not only are you making Cote happy and her fans happy for making her happy, but this also will help and cheer up people who need it even more than we do.
Both are amazing things that would make Cote happy, so it doesn't matter which cause you support more or which you put your money towards, if you do. I hope those that can pitch in do for either one and those who can't afford it at least spread the word about the charity. Even those who don't know much about Cote can see the charity as a great idea, so we have a better chance of gaining thousands for that than we do of making a front page header happen.
Look at this Dianne! Way to go!!!

Thank you! We’re thinking of doing a new trend every week, I was thinking maybe Tuesdays since that’s NCIS day, and keep going until something is said? Either way, our voices are being heard, there are articles, this fandom is more powerful than we think!
WE DID IT AGAIN!
Day 2 of trend week? A SUCCESS!
For all with Twitter
I just gave CBS another piece of my mind. Here's what I had to say.
After reading more news articles it seems that I must speak up yet again - I've been vocal on Twitter, Facebook, tumblr, livejournal, via snail mail, and to my friends - and I assure you, I will not stay silent, as long as this takes. I simply can't understand why on earth you would be unwilling to concede to a brilliant actress such as Cote de Pablo to keep NCIS from crumbling. Let's look at the past year, shall we? The ratings were the highest ever this season, bringing NCIS to the #1 show on television, even surpassing football! That's incredible - and you have to be aware that Cote de Pablo helped you get there. NCIS has a great team of writers, producers, and actors, and I don't devalue any of their work. But part of what keeps people tuning in week after week is the amazing dynamic of the team that lights up the television with crackling chemistry and banter - and I'm not just talking about the "Tiva" dynamic, either. Cote de Pablo lights up the screen and is a breath of fresh air in a world dominated by men. And not only does her character Ziva David hang with the boys, she surpasses them in many aspects, something that very few women have the chance to do - and something that all women should aspire to. I have read that Cote de Pablo was requesting a one-year contract extension. Even if she didn't want to stay on with the show that much longer, why not give her this? This will only make the fans happier - now your writing team must scramble to find what I believe was called "appropriate closure" to an integral team member after eight years. An integral team member who claimed that she came to NCIS to settle down and who wanted something permanent. Whoever was negotiating with de Pablo clearly had no idea just how little sense it truly makes for the character of Ziva David to leave now - or they would have done everything to keep her. She has been written into a corner because your writing team surely never thought that de Pablo would choose to leave before the end of the show's run. Now, they must struggle to find a believable storyline for a character to depart after eight years of growing into a new family. I am so unbelievably disappointed at the team of people who were heading negotiations - they failed. Miserably. Perhaps it's time to pay attention. Pay attention to the fans, for one, many of whom are just as outraged as I am that this has been allowed. Pay attention to your shows - for if anyone negotiating had any idea just how irreplaceable Cote de Pablo is, they would have fought much harder to keep her. I have the utmost respect for Cote de Pablo for sticking to her guns and not caving. I am heartbroken that she chose to leave but I truly believe that more women need to stand up for themselves instead of backing down under pressure. She truly is a strong role model for women of all ages. I will continue to support her. It is my hope that should you choose to ignore the requests of your fans and she signs on for a new project with another network, that she will continue to thrive without CBS, and that she will show you just what you were missing. I strongly urge you to reconsider your position with Cote de Pablo and seek a resolution which keeps her on the show with the rest of the cast. For even if you choose that NCIS must come to an end after this 11th Season, I can speak for many fans who would be happier knowing that it would end with the ENTIRE team, and not a fraction of it. Until she returns, though, I am sad to say that I will no longer be a fan of NCIS. I have enjoyed the show during that time with laughter and tears, but unfortunately, this is one change to the show that I cannot condone. No Ziva, no NCIS.
