Ah, yes, they remember it to tie them to the main plot /because/ they remember the main plot ^-^ The reason I've found fanfics like this to be so interesting is becaue a lot of authors create a great feeling of suspense, since their OC can remember the plot, but should not, under any circumstances, tell any one about it-- since the smallest slip-up can change everything via ripple-effect. So the OC kinda has to maneuver through the plot without messing anything major up, if that makes sense :D

well, write what makes you happy!! :) I know the thrill, I've written one similar to that back in the day for hp. I've personally kinda given up on this kind of fic since it's always the same thing, and the character of the OC, not to mention a development of such, is mostly nonexistent. It depends on where you put your focus, since reliving canon events and dialogue personally bores me a little now. You can certainly try and convince my otherwise with your OC ;D Which is to say, I can still help you with making sure your OC has depth and is well-rounded, but that's in all likelihood all I'll be able to do.

Like, a point-based overview over her speed, strength, etc? ovo

You can add them if you want! Sometimes it helps oneself to get a feel for what the OC can do. Please don’t do this one though, it gives me a headache.

Suggestions on what stats (0-5) you can do:

Speed, strength, constitution, intelligence, DF (mastery), Haki, weapon, maybe offense & defense

I’m not a huge fan of these stat-thingies since characters are supposed to change, learn and become stronger, that’s why you shouldn’t just do these and think about the point ‘evolution of ability’ that I put on the template. Or you’ll have me pointing at my ritual examples.

Ah, thank you very much for the answer!! <3 Though what I was referring to wasn't the normal 'OC falls into OP', but an OC from the modern world being REBORN into the OP world as a newborn baby, while keeping their memories from their last life-- though I suppose that the two are quite similar situations, except that in the latter scenario they will have to re-live life as a baby and grow up a second time ;;v;;

hmm okay. But why do they have these memories, are they important, do they further plot and character(s) in any way? Is it a way to tie them to the main plot bc they remember what happened in the 'story'? Do they feel like they need to prevent something/stick to someone? Or do they just dream of cars and internet ... for what?

Okay so I don't know if you read Naruto fanfics at all, but basically; in that fandom it's very popular to make OCs from our world that dies and then are reborn into the fictional world where they keep their memories, and there's honestly a huge amount of great fanfics like that over in the Naruto fandom, and I was wondering if you'd be willing to review an OC like that for the OP fandom?? I'd love to write a fanfic with this concept, but I also need advice to avoid said OC becoming a disaster!

Yeah, I know this trope! – I think we call it "OC falls into One Piece" in the op oc fandom, and there are lots of them. They don't even die first in most cases. Among the few I've read were some very good, many okay and a few bad ones. So my general feeling toward them might be summed up best with a "okay?"-shrug, I haven't read the type for quite some time now.

Having said that, of course I'll try my best to help you! At the very least I'm pretty confident we'll manage to keep it from becoming a 'disaster' ;) 

I would still like to ask you to be aware of your reasons of why you want this character to fall in from the "modern world", what aspects it would add to story and character as opposed to setting the OC up directly in canon. If you're writing a story, character development along the story is the key, it's what keeps the plot interesting and relatable. Characters need to learn and change in a story. I often find this and enticing new twists and storylines missing in this type of fic, at least in the ones I've read.

I don't want to keep you from writing, just be aware of your reasons and know that you're about to embark on a parcours absolutely riddled with clichés.

I kinda want to submit my OC because I reeeeeally want a second opinion, but I can't draw decently to save my life. Do you have anything against me using free online dress-up games (rinmarugames, to be exact) to give you a general idea of what my OC looks like? ;w;

No problem at all, anon! Knock yourself out if you want to – but for the record, I’m also totally fine with a brief description! I should be able to get the gist of it ;) Anything, let’s call it ‘out of the ordinary’, should be mentioned there regardless if you’ve got a picture or not. If you got trouble summing their appearance up, try making a bullet point list with what you think is important/different/etc about it.
