Idea for getting out of a rut: Opposite Day/Week Game
Within reason, and not by pushing (or punishing) yourself, what would you think of playing an extreme Opposite Day/Week game? This has not been tested by me, but it was one of those 3am ideas that I had this week. It is based on the idea of, "Well, what I've been doing hasn't been working, so, why not?"
Ideas (pick and choose):
If you wake up last possible minute, wake up an hour earlier
If you go to bed late, try getting in bed at a ridiculously early time (8p)
Never eat breakfast? Eat your favorite breakfast.
Always drive fast? Drive slow, crank up the music!
Always drive slow? Try driving a little faster! (within reason)
Always use the same soap? Try a fruity kind!
Always wear dark colors? Wear the brightest thing you can find.
Always wear the same earrings? Pick the ones in the very back of the box.
Never say 'hi' first, to strangers or others? Try being the first!
Never get to work early? Try to get there as early as possible, then relax a min.
Never eat enough fruits/veggies? Pretend you're vegetarian for a day.
Always listen to the same album? Shuffle your itunes or CDs!
Always turn your TV on when you get home? Try sitting in the quiet for a min.
Never bought that little craft paint set? Buy it and make time to paint something!
Never visit that grocery store? Try it this time!
***If a change makes you late: please change it back! ;)
**Also, don't change any timing stuff, if you cannot be late!
*This is in NO way a "it's THAT easy!" kind of "fix". This is just my idea of trying to kick myself into improving my habits to see if it gets me anywhere.
