(PSM006) Lostlojic - She's Special
It's always good news when you hear that Ukraine's favourite son Lostlojic has dropped something new, this time on the respected Phuture Shock Muzik. The release comes with the original 'She's Special' and remixes from OPR8 and the up-and-comer Troy Gunner.
Where does this fit into Night Tracks? Well, to me, it sounds like a piece built for long summer nights (those in the UK might remember some of those from two years ago), with submerged vocals recalling the work of the artist formerly known as Joy Orbison on 'Wet Look' some years ago. OPR8 gives the track a more 'traditional' 2-step feel, eschewing the blissful pads in favour of the lush chiming keys as the focus. Troy Gunner, meanwhile, takes the original, breaks it down into its constituent parts, and pieces it together again, like somebody putting together a jigsaw puzzle that somehow made a picture just as good as was intended. The pads are broken and cut, but it more than works well, especially with the more flowing vocals.
Out on 12" from 14th May and Digital now.

Lostlojic - "She`s Special" Original / OPR8 Remix / Troy Gunner Remix. (PSM006).
Stellar release from Lostlojic forthcoming on Phuture Shock Musik. A solid triple set, each with a different groove direction.
I've always been a big fan of the original with it's faded male vocal cuts. OPR8's remix is a sunny, Caribbean feel, while Troy Gunner's is full of his signature future garage magic.
Watch out for this one. Release date: April 2012.

Bristol literally leaks talent...check out this lovely little remix by OPR8
