          Screams reverberated off the walls of the warehouse,           but Maya paid them no mind. She’d already gotten           the information she had needed from the man, now the           goal was to leave a message. Blood soaked her sleeves           as she unhesitatingly cut and pulled and broke various           parts from the man’s body. It was a joyless task, but one           she deemed necessary. “Maya and her incessant need for authentic Spanish food. I’ll show her authentic,” Marcus chuckled, grabbing a knife. He glanced over his shoulder at Connor who seemed to be searching through the refrigerator. Things had been less tense recently. Less hatred seemed to be directed his way. Typically, Marcus was accepted by Anya and Maya or ignored by everyone else. Today, even Connor seemed to tolerate the man’s present, managing to crack a smile at the comment. Usually in situations like this, poison would be her choice. However, she couldn't get herself into the hotel restaurant. That meant a lot of disorder was about to occur. She blinked twice, her contact lens receiving a zoomed image of the restaurant. She raised her gun. She could see straight through the lobby from across the street, but she would need to be very precise to avoid hitting anyone passing through. She closed her eyes for a moment and, when she opened them, a spinning target appeared on her HUD display. She closed the eye without a lens to get a more accurate sight.
