Option #2
There was a blur of people all around them, dazzled by their companions or the music or the lights of the small room they all inhabited.
But not him.
If she could compare him to anything, he would be like the lights hanging from the ceiling.
People were dazzled by him, longing to be in his presence.
She watched him from a corner, thankful she had gotten the chance to be close to him. But now, she would have to be careful.
After all, a person is bound to get enamored with an angel.
Just then, she watched as his smile lit up his face, the girls around him getting flushed at the sight. Even the guys seemed a little awestruck. It was a gift, his ability to make people feel good.
Charming, she smiled to herself, looking down at her hands.
Like he was the honey to her bee, she was drawn to look up again at him. He was looking right back. Her eyes widened in shock, but she didn’t look away. She knew it would be obvious.
Instead, his smile softened, his eyes washing over her with fondness. As if to let her know, I’m only focused on you.
She was running out of excuses, and fast. But as time went on, she just couldn’t find it in herself to fight her feelings.
Her assumptions were right indeed. It’s only a matter of time before you get enamored with an angel.
