Am Sonntag Morgen fuhren wir wieder früh los um uns einen schönen Platz zum frühstücken zu suchen. Diesen fanden wir mit dem Waituhi Scenic Lookout. Gestärkt fuhren wir weiter den Highway 43, ab Taumarunui wird er „Forgotten World Highway“ genannt, er verläuft auf weitgehend unberührter Gebiet und ist mit circa 150 Fahrzeugen pro Tag der Higwhway mit dem geringsten Fahrzeugaufkommen. Weiter ging es durch das Örtchen Whangamomona, das 1989 seine Unabhängigkeit erklärte und man deshalb (gegen eine Spende) sich einen Stempel in seinen Reisepass machen lassen kann. Unser heutiges Ziel, ist der Ort Opunake. Hier haben wir einen tollen Schlafplatz direkt am Meer und auf der anderen Seite sehen wir den Mount Egmont. Nach dem tollen Sonnenuntergang legten wir uns Schlafen.

Race pack picked up ... feel pretty nervous considering I have not been training at all for this event. Registered for long course but being unwell for the past week (and still not feeling the best at this moment) I may have to switch to doing the short course. See how I feel tomorrow. Other than that I’m all ready to go, feels like it’s been ages since I’ve done a tri, nerves are at a all time high and the feeling of not fully being ready and prepared for it is scaring the bejesus out of me. Wish me luck, pray I make it and good luck to everyone else who has entered in this awesome event. #DespiteHowIFeelIDoLookForwardToTheTri #TaranakiToa #Opunake
