I wrote something sad for @galladrabbles but it was the first thing I thought of when I saw this week's prompt. Thanks for the suggestion 'Just Say Yes', @silvanshadow. (I had never even heard the song and I really liked it).

Ian’s eyes burn with tears that haven’t fallen yet. Thick drops slide down his cheeks as he stares into blue eyes. Mickey looks away, blinking too many times, making his own tears scatter, like he always does. The redhead knows what it means. But he doesn’t want to believe it. Ian grips the strap of the backpack on his shoulders, with the few things he thought he’d need to run away… Run away with Mickey. One last time, Ian insists. “Just say yes… just… yes.” “I… I can’t.”
