Alright then so not many games, whats your favorite texture? yes as in clothing or blankets
or walls
idk i dont judge (i misspelled that 8 times jfc)
im bored
In clothes idk what the material is called it's like silk ish but it's not silk 🥹 I DON'T KNOW WHAT IT'S CALLED
Anyway blankets I'm allergic to fur so I like cotton :3 but bec I'm in a rlly hot country they can't be thick (fluffy is fine there's a difference trust...)
after sleeping on it, I think I've decided that the only human theory is just Not For Me. (for me, personally) it just raises way more questions than it ends up answering, and for a theory that poses itself as the answer I can't really reconcile that.
why would frisk and chara have different appearances if this was always the intent? we only see chara after we are presumed to have played pacifist and therefore had the frisk reveal - if this is meant to clarify that they were the same the whole time, why bother making them look different?
in a similar vein, why give them different names at all? the doc seems to posit it's because chara has, through their journey, become frisk, and left behind the identity of "chara". but then, couldn't the story have accomplished the same effect by only having there be two names - the name that you, the player, enter, and a true name? doesn't the existence of a third name just confuse this message if it's the intent?
why could the proposed method of resurrecting chara not instead link chara to another fallen human? if we're already saying that the player being present is what's allowing this to happen, why can it only allow ressurection and not some kind of possession?
and on that note, why would chara not refer to it as a "resurrection" at the end of genocide, and instead a "reincarnation" - something that's typically more associated with coming back in a different form?
and, yeah, why didn't anyone recognize chara if this is supposed to be how they looked before they died? I know this one is acknowledged on the doc itself, but it goes unanswered, and feels like a significant sticking point to me.
all of that bugs me too much for me to accept the theory as fact. that's not to say that it didn't bring anything to the table that I liked though - the discussion of the bandage is it's strongest evidence I think, and also very cool! unfortunately I've never found theories that depend on things like concept art to prove even small parts of it to be very compelling, and I think it weakens what is there that it has to. nevertheless, it introduces a mystery that I had never really thought about before, which is fun on it's own.
also, perhaps unsurprisingly, the discussion of control was fascinating, and fairly in line with my own interpretation. I think it is clear that, although the player characters allow us to be in control for most things, they have at least some control over things themselves. I don't think it's quite as clear cut as the document makes it out to be, but still at least partially true either way. I ended up agreeing with most of the discussion on deltarune in general, though that may just be because it doesn't end up touching on deltarune quite as much.
ultimately, it's a fine enough theory, really. I probably wouldn't be making this post at all if it weren't for the fact that it insists upon itself too much. but because it really wants you to see this as the correct interpretation, it loses me entirely! either way I probably wouldn't have believed it, but this way certainly made me scrutinize it more.
this post probably comes off more as "debunking" than I necessarily intend, but trust, it's not because I think it's a bad theory. I just simply don't think it has all the textual support it really wants to have
dunno the artist sorry, but tell me this ain't begging for a redraw with Toriel + any of her like 10 kids

Undertale Short:
“Character”
Chara: Greetings, I am Ch-
Frisk: Ohmygod I know you! You’re that Chara ki-
Chara (Shaken): no no NO NO stop right there! It’s CHARA, like the word “Character”? Does anybody even READ the wiki? No, nobody does their research? They all call me Chara, or Chara, or Chara, but NEVER CHARA! how would you like it if I pronounced your name incorrectly, huh? What if I called you freesk? Or FRICK? That’s not your name! Wouldn’t you be offended?
Frisk: Awwwwe...CHara, would you like a hug?
Chara: Go f**k yourself.
Oh and here’s the link to said Wiki, if you don’t believe poor little Chara.
