Nah you are so right like I keep seeing who hate Invisigal be like “if she was a man no one would be okay with her behavior” like Flambae isn’t the same exact person as her and adored for it. Or they make Waterboy even worse on purpose!!

I swear it's like these people are turning their "These are Fictional Dolls" brains off and treating her like a real life person!! I thought you fuckers loved messy characters! No, apparently! Only when they're a man!!!

They're purposefully skipping over Visi's interiority and genuinely fascinating psychology, she's literally Robert's thematic foil. She's his reflection! Those two are cut from the same cloth!! It doesn't matter if their relationship turns romantic or not (in fact the game devs thought it wouldn't for the majority), they grow to care for each other over the plot!! And I've barely seen women characters treated this way in media that isn't directed towards women!!

But it's the fact that even Waterboy and Phenomaman who barely get screen time with Robert (with admittedly charged tension, jesus christ white man, your greed), get more an exploration by the fandom is ... welll.

I guess the better way to phrase it isn't about what's dominating fandom spaces, but what gets shunted.

I dunno, I also think the narrative of Visi, a broken, disabled, incredibly flawed woman finding worth and good in herself and being loved is a genuinely wonderful message that Dispatch pulled off well.

I kinda want to get back into harvest moon roleplaying... I've done so many characters though that I wouldn't know who to pick. I also have an OC but do people like rping with harvest moon OCs?

prison break; Arthur confessed to murdering Lewis but Vivi is having none of it. No way scared Arthur murdered Lewis. Now they’re both fugitives and their van broke in front of a purple mansion (Very specific sorry, just had this in my head for days)

Oh no, I'm horrid at action/chase scenes, this one's probably gonna be short...

"I'm giving her all she's got!" Arthur screamed back, eyes concentrated on the path before them.

Mystery barked in response to the yelling, paws digging into the seat cushions as Arthur floored it over a hill, the van landing with a groan and the promise that some parts had been left behind.

"They're gaining on us!"

"Hey, you wanna drive?"

"Great idea!"

Before Arthur could say another word, Vivi was shoving him out of the driver's seat, foot quickly replacing his on the gas pedal. The blond fell to the back, landing amongst tools and random objects before popping up and gripping on the back of the seat with white knuckles.

"You're going to break her!"

"It's us or the van, Arthur!" Vivi cried.

"I don't know why I let you talk me into this!"

Vivi responded by leaning out the side window and flicking the police off behind them. "You'll never take us alive, coppers!"

"I would really like to be taken alive!" Arthur yipped, and Mystery nodded in agreement. "Dying was not on my agenda today!"

"Well neither was you confessing to murder and yet here we are!" Vivi exclaimed, taking a turn too sharply and flinging poor Mystery the floor as Arthur tumbled in the back. "Plans change, buddy boy!"

"I didn't ask for this!" Arthur exclaimed.

"No shit!" Another crazy turn, horns blaring as Vivi ran a red light. "Besides, there's no way I'm letting my best friend go to jail for something he didn't do!"

"Vivi, I-"

"Nope. Shut up, Art, before I do something that'll really hurt the van!"

Mystery barked as he slid back and forth from Vivi's driving.

"Hold on, boys!"

Arthur and Mystery caught each other's eyes and braced themselves.

It took until they were about twenty minutes from the city before the lights and sounds disappeared, yet Vivi kept flooring it.

"I think we lost 'em," Arthur said, voice shaking.

Vivi continued as if she hadn't heard him.

"Vivi, I think we're safe."

The van only seemed to go impossibly faster.

"Vivi, you're going to wreck us, stop!"

Wrong words.

In the span of a second, Vivi released her pressure on the gas pedal and slammed on the brakes. The van spun, tossing the occupants around the interior like rag dolls. Mystery ended up plastered to the windshield when the car stopped spinning, sliding down slowly.

"Ow," Arthur groaned, sitting up and clutching his head. "Vivi, why?"

"Look."

Peeling Mystery off the floor, Arthur looked out the window. Before them was a huge mansion, faint purple light seeping through.

"Oh, no," Arthur said, backing away. "Nope. Not happening."

"Well, considering the van's pretty much done with for now, it's our only choice," Vivi said. She opened the door, climbing out. "Come on, help me push this piece of junk to the back, we'll hide her till morning."

"She's not a piece of junk," Arthur grumbled, following Vivi as Mystery hopped down behind him.

None of them noticed the figure watching from the second story window.
