L: say something genuinely nice about a character who isn’t one of your faves

Alright, so I’m not a huge fan of Steve, but I really love his arc from this weak, sickly kid to this strong hunk. (Dr. Erskine had a good quote about this but I can’t remember it off the top of my head). Also, his loyalty to Bucky was really admirable and I really wish I had that kind of relationship with someone 

O: choose a song at random, which ship or character does it remind you of?

Oh god. I chose the song Demons by Imagine Dragons and it really reminds me of Nat (with BlackHill themes underneath). The lyrics just really remind me of her. One of the lines is “and the saints we see / are all made of gold / when your dreams all fail / and the ones we hail / are the worst of all” and even though I love and appreciate Nat, I think she still struggles with accepting and forgiving herself, so she often feels guilty that she is so idolized as an Avenger because she feels undeserving of people’s love and admiration because of her past. There are a bunch of other lines in the song that I could talk about but I’m lazy and want to keep this at a reasonable length. This is cheesy as fuck but I love this song and I love Nat so who cares.

Just Activism Things

Some activists want/like to be seem as victims. They hold onto misleading facts that agree with their notion that everything is shit. They find every little thing to be against or for their cause. It's like they want to be seen as victims. It's insulting the way that some activists make their same race or gender to be these helpless, little flowers that bend or break at the slightest touch. Like being seen as damstrels in distress.

There's nothing wrong with realizing that the entire world isn't out to get you or people like you. There's nothing wrong with realizing that the time we are living in is actually pretty great but needs improvement. There's something wrong with scapegoating and demonizing people who disagree with you, and shoving your belief systems down other people's throats instead of talking to them like human beings.

@youaremyworldlois yes, excellent choice. Right over his ribs, where he’s soft but still firm and so so warm. Her grip anchors them close together, but not close enough. They’ll never be close enough. 

And god I’m having too many feelings about a scene that came out 9 whole months ago. 😭😭😭

I keep trying to write a “why you should check out Astoria: Fate’s Kiss post, and it seemed especially appropriate today as it is @theivorytowercrumbles‘ birthday and they wrote my two favorite paths* so birthday present or something?

Like, he was always attractive, (Medusa is still the bestest) but how did a pixel God With Issues completely derail my train of thought because of a polo shirt and new hair? He’s not even my favorite?!?

Man I'm really not looking forward to Monday's class because we're studying disability rhetorics with a focus on autism/mental stuff and it is going to be VERY uncomfortable.

What should I do today besides not sleeping:

Painting?

Taking a risk and walking outside under the sun (i think it's going to rain, but whatever.)

Ask my mother if she can buy me coffee instead of making some in my kitchen.

Read ch 5 & 6 of The Paradox Eye.

Read the books on my dresser. :)

Exercise for a bit?

Brush my teeth.

Be...positive?

Take a nap?

Write a bit?
