does anyone have any experiences working with kids with trauma/attachment upsets in their histories and/or if you feel comfortable would you tell me yourself what you would have wanted from a caregiver in grade school?
my poor nanny girl has a very deep fear that other people are getting more than her (more food, more time on the computer, more attention, more times giving the dog a treat, etc) that, from what i know, seems very firmly rooted in her histories of neglect/loss and i would like to deal with them better.... she's 7, and at 7 kids still have meltdowns, but she'll have hour long+ ones paired with regression to earlier age (nonverbal, hitting, won't walk, says she doesn't know how to brush her teeth). right now i sit down and hold her and, since i need her to get to school, help her with stuff she normally does (getting dressed, brushing her hair) and sometimes offering some tea or juice is soothing but i feel like there is MORE i could be doing more specifically focused for her situation.......... i have anon on please feel free to reply with whatever you know i would appreciate any insight?
