out of character. to this day i still don’t particularly want to touch on why gin broke rukia’s resolve on that bridge. because there’s no amount of ‘ oh he was doing this ’ that can take away from the fact that he acted, in that moment, incredibly sadistic & the kicker of it all is that we’ll never truly know why, & maybe that’s better than me trying to decipher it. maybe that’s better than me assigning reason; it’s more eerie, more haunting & utterly irredeemable if i leave it as is. this was a terrible act.

it’s true that gin’s actions often always carry some hidden meaning to them, but for that ? i make a deliberate avoidance of sounding as though there’s an excuse underneath the surface. tite wanted gin to be completely villainous during that arc, he wanted vile, he wanted cruel, & it’d be foolish to do mental gymnastics to try & deny that it worked.

The most absurd plot point in the HS epilogues/HS2 is that Rose and Kanaya would see a baby that looks just like Vriska Serket and be filled with any emotion other than complete contempt and disgust.
