Love the central conceit of A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur’s Court. Like, the author is at a museum and there’s just this guy there like, “Oh, you mean you’ve never heard of time travel, dear boy?” with the smuggest possible look on his face. “Heh, these silly curators don’t know that ‘twas I who shot the hauberk, not some silly Roundheads.”

Do you think Hank just like, stands around Warwick Castle specifically to brag about his escapades to random passers-by? Like one of those know-it-alls who has nothing better to do all day so they just go on ghost tours or whatever and interrupt the guide for fun. The author comes back like a year later and he sees Hank giving the same exact same spiel to some other rando.
