Well, Lads, it would appear I’ve took my chances, and have written a prequel series to MFTD.
This, I repeat, THIS will series will NOT be posted under a schedule NOR will it be in chronological order. I write what comes to mind, but you can send asks about what stories you may want to see and I’ll consider them.
This new series will dive into Vincent’s past with more detail, and we may even get to dive into his human years! I have no intentions of completing this series since there’s just SO much, but we’ll definitely be looking into the major parts.
I’m not particularly proud of this one since it’s a bit bland to me, but the first edition of MFTD seems pretty bland, so I’m not sure whether it’s just because it the first story. I think I’ll need to write it for a little bit until I can get the feel of how I should write this series out, so consider this as just a stepping stone.
But, anyways, hope you enjoy. X]

Hey Chekhov, do you think there's anything that your Steven would be willing to do, that Canon Steven never would? And vice versa? Anything White Steven wouldn't do that canon Steven might do?
As in like, moral decisions. Hopefully this question makes sense xD I was just curious.
Happy Worldbuilding Wednesday! Tell us about travel. Are there unique dangers on the road, special sights to see? How do people normally get around? How likely is the average person to travel? Is it particularly dangerous, or quite common?
sorry i took so long to answer this. i wanted to give a detailed answer and i haven’t been able to dedicate enough time to answer it the way i wanted. so here it is.
tagging @plaguecraft and @ravesthewriter as well. bc worldbuilding stuff.
okay to start off, one thing i sort of headcanon’d but didn’t really solidify until recently is that most of the city/town ruins by the ocean are underwater bc of climate change (is that the right term? global warming?). the apocalypse didn’t cause this but it didn’t really help it either. i also read this article about how people in america will move more and more inland as sea levels rise over the years. which seeing as we keep getting more and more rain and flooding gets worse over time (i live close-ish to the ocean. not directly, but still way too close for my comfort) i think infrastructure is eventually going to break down, leaving us with no way to combat these disasters or recover from them. sorry this turned into a whole meta, i just have a lot of strong feelings about the effect climate change has on coastal regions.
anyway to the questions lol.
Are there unique dangers on the road, special sights to see?
dangers of the road:
a) monsters
b) ghosts
c) completely weird shit. (ex: getting trapped in a different reality. time loops. towns infested with demons. cults. etc.)
d) ruins from the apocalypse (some ruins are completely trashed and the only way to get by is to just go around them or if you’re brave, walk through them/row through them.)
e) abductions (to clarify: some are by aliens and some are by humans. i had this idea where some people decided to leave earth to go to space during the apocalypse, but quickly realized they couldn’t sustain their way of life. so everything sort of goes to shit. they try to ally with some of the aliens, but the aliens are like, “nah.” so they kidnap humans from earth to work, keep the population going, and to fight in an arena for entertainment. some straight up dystopian shit. (footnote: some aliens do form relationships/work with humans, it’s just not a super common occurrence.)
How do people normally get around?
this is one of the things i haven’t quite figured out. i have them drive around in cars, but the question becomes: if gas isn’t a viable option any more, then what are they using? are they powered by light, water, electricity? possibly somehow by plants? i have no idea. but it’s fun to think about. (says the person who knows nothing about any of this lol)
How likely is the average person to travel? Is it particularly dangerous, or quite common?
i think most people don’t really like traveling outside of their hometown bc it’s dangerous. people still do it though. bellam city especially trades people out bc it’s a city of travelers. it has some kind of magic that requires new blood for it to keep going (not literally new blood lol. it needs new thoughts, new ideas to survive. when i named it i accidentally made a pun on cerebellum. i might keep this thread of naming some of the cities after parts of the brain bc it’s fun).
