Happy Storyteller Saturday! In keeping with October spookiness, I want to know: What would your characters SAY their worst nightmare is? Are they telling the truth? Or are they hiding a deeper, darker fear?
arthur: he'd say his worst nightmare is being trapped. which is close, but not quite; his worst nightmare is actually being caught. what he's afraid of being caught for, well... that's a long story.
alexei: he would not tell you! he would not have a thing he says! he doesn't think anyone deserves to know what he's afraid of. his worst nightmare is to be controlled and compliant, which is exactly what happens to him :) yay!
val: she'd say her worst nightmare is the world being put into peril once more. this is true. however, most people would assume it's due to, like, evil bad guys and the horror of danger. it's actually due to the fact that she knows she'll crumble if she's forced to do that much on her own again.
mack: taxes, probably, or like, being force fed cooked mushrooms. the actual answer is of course that she's fundamentally terrified that her smiling mask will slip and everyone will see the small, broken child beneath who incredibly badly needs someone to care for them, and furthermore that he will not be able to put the mask back on again.
