Prompt: I'm not the best speller in the world. Grammar and I aren't the best of friends, I live and die with autocorrect. Sometimes autocorrect isn't always right. It's algorithm picks up on your habits, the good and the bad. It has become the norm for most people to type a word and see it change before your eyes and thumbs. The almighty algorithm bringing forth the correct spelling or something entirely different. And that different is sometimes odd. When autocorrect comes up with a word that's from so out of left field you think, "how in the hell does this equal that?" Is it from the some of the parts? Is it like furniture from IKEA when there are some extra pieces left at the end. NET 2.2: Romantic Comedy Prompt: Most popular culture has several genres or subgenres now. From the blatantly obvious to the so obscure that you begin to question, "how can this exist?" Besides the classic cheesy action movie another favorite of many is the Romantic Comedy. One tactic of this masterful genre showing the depiction of love through comedy is the "meet-cute". Two Protagonist meet. Through happenstance, kismet, and who knows how else. They hit it off. Or they drift away. Does lightning strike twice. Is it all about the grand gesture? Holding a radio above your head on the front lawn. Throwing yourself down the hill after realizing you've just thrown your true love down it seconds before and you go rolling down the hill after them . A musical serenade in the football stands, the airplane and the subway. The relentless pursuit. Running through the city to find each other. Oranbeg Inquires: Sergiy Barchuk

Where are you from/where are you currently residing?

I was born in Kiev, grew up in the Far East of Russia and then relocated to the US ten years ago. Currently residing in Brooklyn, NY with my wife.

What is the work you are currently focusing on?

I recently completed a project in India where everything was new to me and visually very stimulating (selections from this project have been published by Smoke Room). After India we moved to New York where I have been shifting gears from photographing the unfamiliar to the very personal moments in my daily life. 

What is your opinion on the current state of photography, particularly on the photobook?

I think photography is thriving and full of possibilities as a medium. There's an  abundance of photographers and photo books which is both great and redundant. 

Favorite Photo Blog?

I enjoy It's Nice That, Many, Paper Journal, Mossless, The Latent Image, etc.

Favorite Photobook?

At the moment it's Burg by Wolfgang Tillmans.

Oranbeg Inquires: Shane Lynam

  Where are you from/where are you currently residing? 

I'm originally from Kildare in Ireland but i've lived in France and Belgium for large chunks of my life. I'm currently back living in Dublin.

  What is the work you are currently focusing on? 

I'm making a new fictional documentary project about Dublin.

What is your opinion on the current state of photography, particularly on the photobook? 

Sometimes I think that photographers should worry less about making books and more about making work. You can make books at any age, but I think it's harder to make work once you get older. You might have more commitments, less energy and not as many new ideas. If the work is strong enough the books will hopefully follow.

Favorite Photo Blog? 

Paper Journal have been doing some great stuff recently.  

Favorite Photobook? 

La Banlieue De Paris by Robert Doisneau / Blaise Cendrars, published in 1949 by La Guilde du livre. I don't have a copy as they are expensive and hard to find but I got my hands on one while I was making Contours back in College.
