First time I have ever had to spit an orange out. Tasted genuinely rotten yet still I ate the whole thing. I shall not waste an orange even if it is not worthy of my consumption. It’s days like these where i wonder why I even bother with oranges at all. Why oranges? Why not apples? Or lemons? Why this hit-or-miss fruit with peel so hard and colors that stain. Why you? I may not have the answer but I feel like this is my purpose. To devour and rate. To revel in disgust and joy. Yes, this is my purpose. Yes it is.

first bite tasted like cinnamon. a good four pieces were YUMMY YUMMY YUMMY and then it BLEH BLEH BLEH…. IT WAS VERY CITRUSY BUT INA. BAD WAY BUT BURNED MY MOUTH and NOW MY TUMMY HURTS AND I WANNA DIE it looked so beautiful too… and I got the peel off in one piece… how dare you deceive me.

Am I worthy of receiving something so delectable whose only purpose is to nourish me? For something that grows for months and disappears in a minute. Is it destined to be forgotten? Do these oranges bring me the purpose in life I wish to receive? If I am what I can become then is my destiny just to be “the guy who likes oranges”? For my treatment of these oranges is one that is beyond a “like”. It is a need, the only item that can complete a meal and make me truly full. This spherical fruit is my reason for living. Because a life without oranges would be one not worth living at all.
