Soft and Fluffy Orange Rolls
I am making Orange Sweet Rolls.
I made the dough by replacing the milk and water with orange juice.
I peeled some oranges and blended the peels in my coffee grinder to get the zest.
I like orange flavor a lot so I didn't measure the zest when I made the filling but I put in at least three times the suggested amount. The extra zest is in a baggie in my freezer for a later baking project. Probably cake.
I made a double batch and only have so many pans, so 1/4 are going to be muffin-shaped and I'm making another 1/4 into a loaf.
Rise my children!
Grandma’s Orange Rolls (recipe)
Orange Cinnamon Rolls
My late wife’s traditional Christmas breakfast was Pillsbury Poppin Fresh orange rolls - you know, the ones from the can - and I’ve been having them every year she’s been gone. Except this year (prolly due to pandemic supply line issues) I couldn’t get them. They weren’t available by the online grocery delivery service I use for most anything and there weren’t any on the shelf when I went into the store for a thing that’s never available by delivery, and I hadn’t left myself enough time to check any of the other chain stores. So I got cinnamon rolls instead.
To add insult to injury, this time the can popped open perfectly easily just like the directions say.
These are some cinnamon rolls a made a few days ago. I’ve never made them before and they turned out great. This is the first and second try respectively. The glaze is actually an orange glaze and the cinnamon sugar inside has sprinkles of orange zest as well. They were fantastic
