June 29, 2018 - Orange-headed Thrush (Geokichla citrina)

Found in parts of South and Southeast Asia, there are 11 recognized subspecies of these thrushes. They eat insects and other invertebrates, including earthworms, leeches, slugs, and snails, as well as berries, fruits, and seeds. Pairs build their nests in trees, breeding between the months of April and October depending on the area of their range. Though they are considered a species of Least Concern by the IUCN, their population is thought to be declining due to trapping for the cage-bird trade and habitat loss.

Geokichla citrina, orange-headed thrush - Khao Yai National Park, Thailand.

This beautiful bird wasn't too shy, I could approach as much as 7-10 meters to it in a very dark part of the forest and still be able to get a clear shot because for the most time it wasn't moving. It was bouncing around and searching for insects around the water stream.
