I’m always amazed by those who manage to exercise in style. I’m definitely not one of them! 😅 The past few months I’ve gotten the habit to go on a 7km brisk walk every day, and I’ve never felt better. I couldn’t remember the last time I didn’t feel any back pain at all. I love walking because It’s an low impact exercise I can do any time of the day, all by myself (#introvert style), I get to be outdoors and it helps me clear my mind. And as a bonus, I listen to podcasts. By the way, guus, do you have any cool podcast suggestions? I’m running a bit low on episodes of my favorites 📻
As @orangebeakstudio reminded me, exercise is good for everybody, but as illustrators (who spend most of the day sitting and straining our backs) it’s even more important. But for a couple of years I neglected my health, working too many hours, working weekends and not doing any exercise because I was too busy. And that took a toll on me in the form of terrible back pain. Now I know that, no matter how busy my schedule is, I have to make time to take care of my body. No excuses. When not in physical pain you’re much more able to be creative and do your best work, am I right? So remember to exercise and stretch!
