I accidentally walked through this amazing creatures web. I love these spiders so much, they always signal fall for me. But I’ve never seen one with this green shading! She’s gorgeous! I believe these are a type of orb spider, correct me if I’m wrong. But these amazing creatures are my biggest inspiration for Driders.

i made friends with this orb spider, but i can’t get a good picture of him to show you, gremlins. he’s been very busy making his web which looks beautiful. i’ll try to get a picture of it. it’s very high up and i’m short lol. what should we call him?

It is still cold. Snow is a maybe. Spiders are a strong probably all the time. Make the best of it and add a non-scary spider to the mix. Find the spider skirts here.

Garden Orb Spider

This is a Golden Orb-weaver, from the London Zoo

Fact from Findaspider : The web is remarkably strong and has a characteristic yellow colour as does the fluffy egg sac which tends to be left in the tree the spider was using for support. Nephila/Trichonephila webs normally contain a string of debris masses which are the remains of insects the spider has eaten. The tendency to produce such a string is rare among orb weaver species so this is a useful identification feature.In many parts of south-east Queensland this species is present in very large numbers, especially throughout the warmer months of the year. It is common for a single dead tree to have as many as 30 individual golden orb-weaver webs attached to it.
