The Orbcomm OG2 Mission 2 first stage, also known as F9-021, was raised to vertical yesterday, August 20, at SpaceX’s Hawthorne, California, headquarters.
F9-021 was the first rocket the company safely recovered following a mission, landing autonomously at LZ-1 December 21, 2015.
SpaceX will be displaying the stage in landed configuration, stretching more than 156 feet into the California sky.
The booster was located in LC-39A’s HIF until mid-June, when it was transported to Hawthorne. Since then, workers have been prepping the rocket’s display stand, including the pouring of a concrete base and installation of ground supports.
