Also, where AquaViva is, I want to break it down and put in a pool for the orcas, of about 6,000 cubic meters of water. (My edit: Almost 1.6 million US gallons.)
I built this pool complex a couple of months ago when I was asked what I saw the ideal killer whale habitat as. Obviously I'm keeping it as something that COULD be built today, not as some amazing futuristic thing which could obviously be even better.
I'll add more pictures of the actual pools later, with measurements, these were just pictures of training sessions.
Wave machines in dolphin pools
I think this would make for great enrichment, and it's already common in large human pools. Discuss!

It was the month Kandu 5 was captured (she came to SeaWorld two months later) and Kona died.
SeaWorld’s evolution through the half century it has kept killer whales.
I of course have to be generalising and overly simplistic, so no “there haven’t been waterwork since 2010″, or “it didn’t look like that all the time”, shut up.
The main reason for this are the expansions of the pools, the pictures to the right are just chosen to display changes in the stage/environment, or their way of handling the whales.
They have always been evolving, and it’s what they’re still doing. Obviously inspired by the recently announced end of One Ocean in San Diego, and the new educational presentations “in a more natural setting” (am very curious to see what that will be”.
Sorry, I had to skip the theme of “San Diego” in the last pic and just write SeaWorld, because I really wanted a shot like that, and that’s Orlando.
