Becausec I love Orcas and British Columbia, Canada Credit © 🎬 🖋 @wild_sky_productions Family: The day before yesterday was special, a day I’ll never forget! Early evening we received news that a baby had been born. In 2011 after a series of deaths, the A25 matriline had only two family members remaining. A85 also known as Cordero, orphaned at age 6 and her uncle A61 also known as Surge. They traveled together for the past 8 years spending time with multiple different groups and now finally they are growing. September is an unseasonal time for Orcas to give birth and we were pleased to hear of their return after a few days absence. Witnessing their arrival back into their traditional territory, along with four other family’s surrounding them the A25’s brought their newest family member home! It’s still early days for this fragile newborn and I am once again forever blown away by the complexity of the lives of these whales 🥰 #imnotcryingyouare #family #orcafamily #orca #killerwhale #orcalab #johnstonestrait #broughtonarchipelago #filming #sonyfs7 #canon #wildlife #nature #conservation #research https://www.instagram.com/p/B2ZNGkUDJJl/?igshid=3b13q5c4sf40
