Swinging back to LotR/etc. Orcish solidarity, with Azog the Defiler (I’m so sorry Thorin ilu). Being one of the more developed Orcish characters in the series by faaaaaaaar, I have LOTS of questions about him (like why do you hate the Durins so much, sir? What specifically happened???).

And as always, I wonder about their faerie nature – especially since Tolkien denotes Valinor AS Faerie itself in “The Hobbit,” at least. I know more recent Orcs, being born naturally and not tortured into existence, don’t remember being Elves. But does a part of them remember the resonance of the stars?
