Order Sanctuary is a place primarily used for the upbringing and protection of centaurs. However, centaurs are very high energy animals who tend to get very antsy when they find themselves in one spot for too long. As such, some of the younger centaurs are permitted to enter local competitions to hopefully let out some pent up energy.
Cody and Rex were the first centaurs to experience the world of competition. Obi-Wan had introduced the two to such things when he noticed the wild centaurs were growing rather anxious in their stalls. It wasn’t common here at the sanctuary, but centaurs housed here did have the opportunity to get into racing to help raise money.
“So, what is this supposed to be again?” Cody asked as he eyed the brush skeptically.
Obi-Wan chuckled a bit. “This is racing paint. It helps humans identify racers, and is often seen as a mark of pride for the centaurs who race.”
“So like war paint?”
“Yes, you could think of it that way. Don’t worry, it’s not harmful.”
Cody huffed at the thought. He’s faced plenty of dangerous things out in the wild. Why the hell would he be scared of paint?
As Obi-Wan began to run the brush over his skin, Cody couldn’t help but flinch a bit due to how cold the paint was. It was a bit refreshing given it was summer, but it felt strange as he continued to watch the flow of paint.
Elsewhere, Ahsoka had managed to rope Rex into being her personal canvas for the day as she drew intricate patterns all along his back, legs, and chest.
The others were out with Qui-Gon and Tahl to help restock the store house and whatever. Truth be told Fives and Echo were probably out horsing around while offering no help besides a few comments.
Rex couldn’t blame them. They were young stallions who needed to vent somehow without risking their bodies. Echo’s hind legs weren’t what they used to be, and Fives was often complaining about cramps.
In all honesty, Rex should introduce them to real racing before they get too antsy. They were quite destructive when bored. Rex didn’t want that given how kind it was for the sanctuary to take them in.
“Alright, done,” Ahsoka grinned.
“Well, what do you think?”
“I think you missed a spot,” Rex grumbled as he looked over his mostly blue body now.
Ahsoka had covered his entire body with circles and flowers and lines that it was hard to tell his coat was brown. She claims they were called henna designs, but Rex believes she messed up and tried to hide it.
He was interested in one design though.
“Is that,”
“Jaig eyes? Yes, yes it is,” Ahsoka replied.
