I think I found a piece with some curl, pretty good figure and color. I'm pretty happy with my new dining room table. I salvaged this tree 7 years ago and had my eye on this piece from the beginning. It has 180* live edge. The only square edge on it is where the tree was cut flush with the ground. It measures 48" wide and 8' ft long. I had @againstthegrainstudio shop partner make a sled style steel base. I'm very happy to have a piece like this in my house. I was Involved in the entire process from the removal of the tree, milling the log into slabs, patiently waiting all these years for these slabs to air dry enough to finally get sanded and finished. This 13'6" circumference walnut (just under 5 feet wide) lost a huge 2 foot diameter limb last night. The tree is dying so were going to salvage the logs and mill them into slabs and lumber. #treesalvage #portland #oregon #oregonblackwalnut #walnut #woodworking #woodfromourhood #reclaimedwood
