Though his body was riddled with scars and open wounds, the demon proceeded to walk through the forest alone. His movements were deliberate and without regard to anything around him, smashing, breaking, and destroying anything that seemed to provide any resistance at all. Creatures of all types cowered out of sight and watched him stalk past in a slow and pointless manner.
The demon walked past a clearing and noticed a small group of demons varying in sizes, shapes, and colors huddled over something in the tall grass. Wanting a fight, he watched them, sizing up his next victims. But something stopped him in his tracks. He noticed a faint glow of something at their feet. Curious, he waited and watched as the figure stood slowly. It was a girl, seemingly angelic in nature and energy, with small broken and bandaged wings. She looked up at the demons around her and seemed to be pleading for them to leave her. The tallest, a blue tinted, tall, thin demon with a bloody grin smiled at her and shook his head as if responding to a child. He reached out to her, wrapping his large arm around her waist and pressed his cheek against hers. She seemed to struggle but with the urging of his whispers in her ear, his intimate grasp on her, and the smiles and encouragement of the other demons sitting near them, she stopped and curled up in his clutch.
Dharilan stared intently at the interactions and debated which demon to attack first. Which one was going to give the best fight? Which one would finally put an end to his existence, or try to anyway. Suddenly he was shaken from his own selfish thoughts by a desperate scream followed by sobbing and laughter. His eyes pierced the darkness only to see the girl weakly trying to pick herself up off the ground but only managing to crawl away from the group of demons. A fire burst in his gut and he charged right into the middle of them without thinking his plan through or questioning his uncharacteristic actions.
A battle ensued between Dharilan and the unsuspecting demons. They scratched, stabbed, bit, and dug at him from every angle. With each movement he noticed that the others were acting as distractions while Blue attempted to get close to the girl. The sight of her helpless, still figure lying all alone in the grass ignited a rage in him he didn’t think he’d ever feel again. As Blue grinned, Dharilan growled, allowing a haunting and unnerving sound to penetrate his surroundings. He refused to give in and kept his gaze on Blue, taking a few steps toward him until he slowly backed into the darkness of the tree-line followed by the others.
