These Homemade Golden Oreos are a delightful twist on the classic Oreo cookie. The buttery, golden cookies are filled with a sweet and creamy buttercream filling, making them a perfect treat for any occasion.
Ingredients: 1 cup 2 sticks unsalted butter, softened. 1 cup granulated sugar. 1 teaspoon vanilla extract. 2 cups all-purpose flour. 1 teaspoon baking soda. 1/4 teaspoon salt. 1/2 cup powdered sugar.
Instructions: Preheat the oven to 375F 190C. In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy. Add the vanilla extract and mix until well combined. In a separate bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until the dough comes together. Scoop small portions of dough and roll them into balls. Place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, leaving some space between each cookie. Flatten each dough ball slightly with the bottom of a glass dipped in powdered sugar. Bake the cookies for 8-10 minutes or until the edges turn golden brown. Remove the cookies from the oven and let them cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely. Once the cookies are completely cooled, you can make the filling. For the filling, mix together 1/2 cup of softened butter and 2 cups of powdered sugar until smooth and creamy. Spread a generous amount of the filling on the flat side of one cookie and sandwich it with another cookie. Repeat this process for the remaining cookies. Your Homemade Golden Oreos are now ready to be enjoyed!
