I know what you’re saying and I promise I’m not saying that Liv should condone what Robert did. But my problem with the idea of “well Robert has his family” is that he doesn’t. And it’s entirely down to the writers and this stupid plot from hell that Aaron has no one outside of Adam right now, but if you count up the people in that village that are naturally on Aaron’s side I’d count at least 10 off the top of my head. For Robert I can count 3, and that includes Vic who, again for ridiculous plot reasons, is currently not on his side - she’s on the baby’s side. Leaving Robert with a support system of Diane and Bernice? Against all of the Dingles, Adam and Paddy. And who else has Robert ever had any kind of close relationship with? Just Liv. And what’s actually going to happen is Liv’s going to come back and ignore him and yell at him and hate his guts for months. Which you might think is justified, but I just think about how he cuddled her after Aaron went to prison and how he cared about her drinking and skipping school, and how he wanted her to stay with him and not go off to Dublin. So it kind of breaks my heart to think that she wouldn’t care about him anymore.
