Big update, some thoughts and struggles we have encountered
We have done a lot of work since I last posted here. There has been a big redesign a bunch of features was added and we have done a tremendous amount of work on the backend (improved servers, security and much more).
We have attended a meeting with a Prague city councilor to discuss possible support. He promised to get us some financial support along with mentoring. That might help since we don’t have any experience with marketing. Speaking about marketing. It is quite a challenge to explain OrgPad to someone, who has never seen it before. OrgPad requires you to strive for simplicity and think about the Big Picture which is a direct opposite of how the majority of people operates. It is a big deal to ask people to change their way of thinking, so unless we come up with a strong argument for why they should do so, it will be very hard to get them to use OrgPad. We would like to promote universality and simplicity together in a sentence like this: “OrgPad is a universal yet simple tool.” But I feel like this is not strong enough. If you have any suggestions for improvements, leave me a message in comments. :-)
The Corona crysis didn’t help. In the times of uncertainty, people turn their backs on innovation and stick with the known. This means a big slowdown in growth for a small startup. However, we have managed to maintain a steady 20% growth every month so there are still some positive news.
