“Listen, I have an associate, a friend over on Sulani, they can hook you up with the cash. I just need to get there first!”
“I’m, definitely going to need more than that. Especially given your record.”
“I’ll literally give you everything in my pockets. Right here, right now. If you let me on-board.”
“Is it anywhere close to the amount needed?”
“Perhaps. Maybe! Let’s find out together!”
STOWAWAY II 20 II UNEMPLOYED STRAY OF THE STREETS
A murder mystery always needs a joker or two. Lots of text, not-as-heavily edited pictures and more under the cut!
Ori-On_Dee, usually called Orion, mostly called Ori, is a baby-faced twenty year old occupying a small corner of San Myshuno. No one really knows when they arrived, but mayhem certainly increased in that sector the day they made themselves at home. As the cops that have thrown them in a jail cell for a day or two for “disturbing the peace” would say, they’re quite the chief of mischief.
No one could deny, the bum had their fun quirks. It was hard to talk with them for a bit and leave them empty-handed afterwards. It wasn’t the ideal life for many, hopping between shelters and living solely off odd jobs and tips. Often, only having to jump place to place due to their many commitment issues, as they seem to self-sabotage themselves every few weeks or so. But, Orion lived in their own sloppy paradise they carved for themselves well enough on people’s generosity.
Many have asked Ori, “Is that really how you spell your name? Scratch that, is that even your real name?”, “Where did you even come from?”, and most importantly, “Can you be anymore of a hindrance to our great society?”
To which they answer swiftly, “Yes, Basically, somewhere in Cygnus, and Absolutely.” At the very least, no one could deny that Ori was a creative one, given their stories seemed absolutely made up, but were satisfactory in those invested in the stray’s mystery.
It was very clear that Orion had run away from something, but no one had ever really investigated what might have happened that sent them to this corner of the galaxy. The scars, the cybernetic eyes, and, well, everything else about them, could paint a picture, but no one had ever finished the puzzle. No one really wanted to.
At least, there was no need to, until that day at the loading bay.
Desperation and eccentricity do not mix well for a normal person on a normal day. They certainly do not help when needing to board a ship with no way to pay for it. Even if one was kind, the pleading was enough to make any sane person too suspicious to allow them on-board.
The Nemesis was the one most unfortunate, with it’s departure set as the earliest to get to Sulani. Ori really tried, but given the state of their body, attire, and namely, personality, it was concluded they were no match for the ship’s crew.
No one could fault Orion for trying to do things the right way.
But they could judge them for getting on the Nemesis in the very wrong way. Breaking and entering was a new low for Orion, but regardless of how true this “friend” story is, they’re certainly doing everything possible to get to Sulani no matter what.

SOME MORE FACTS:
They’ve been living in San Myshuno for a few months at this point, and have garnered a reputation of being well-meaning, but also being very annoying. Too invested in their own fantasies at times.
Use whatever pronouns you want for them! Gender is fake in space, especially on their home planet, where gender as a concept is practically nonexistent.
If they ever let their hair grow out, it’ll be a good red color.
Ori did in fact offer everything in their pockets, and it was, in fact, not enough for a ticket. The items offered included some car keys (knowing Ori, they belonged to a vehicle not of this decade, and most likely didn’t even work), toothbrush plus paste, a tiny collectible toy (definitely nothing rare, absolutely not worth anything) and a note, with a set of numbers.
Their eyes don’t provide them with any edge, as much as they like to pretend they do. They simply were replacements as their original eyes have gone blind.
Their signature includes drawings of stars on the side.
