@origcmibird - surprise starter
There is the strangest sensation that she *knows* this boy. His magic is hauntingly familiar, yet if she racks her cloudy memories, she cannot see his face or that red kimono anywhere. Not in the mountain of her youth, nor in that strange, cold and alien place of her dreams.
Kaguya-hime had been running for far too long. Ever since she escaped her coming-of-age banquet, found her mountain home occupied by another family... She had kept running. She wouldn’t dare return to the capital, wouldn’t dare face her parents after the stunt she had pulled.
Her once beautifully tied hair was in ruins, disheveled down the length of her white kimono and red hakama. Ribbons and pins still cling to the snarled hair. Her make-up had been washed away. To anyone staring, they probably would think she was a child-bride who had fled from her wedding.
Her tattered, bloodied feet finally slow as she collapses in the snow on the edge of the village, her last vision being that of the one-eyed boy.
Two beings born on the Moon...Would meet.
