I have been resisting playing again because act 2 scaries have hit me lol. I like act 2 a lot, the Kethric fight is one of my favorites (and in my opinion one of the hardest bbeg fights in game) but i’m finding it difficult to actually step foot into act 2.

So instead I’m playing Gale’s origin, man i love that dorky wizard. Can’t wait to tell Mystra to get bent lmao

i only grabbed one screenshot of him so far, and tried my hand a bit at editing... its gonna take me a while to remember how to use photo editing, haven't done it in 10 years lol

The ascension does make him some sort of 'alive'. All of the vampiric powers with none of the drawbacks. Twisting one's soul to be living again. When really it's for power. It's not like DnD doesn't have methods to cure a vampire. He just doesn't know any of them. Hell the second game detailed a method. Jaheira and Minsc failing him on not sharing this knowledge.

So I finished BG3 for the first time and was a bit disappointed with the ending. But I think that's mainly because the individual character quests were really the highlight - the journey is the destination and whatnot. And, even though you have TONS of options for the type of character/person you want your Tav to be, they can't even come close to being as vivid as an Origin character.

In that spirit, I thought to do an Origin playthrough as the character who I scored the lowest approval rating with, annnnd since I'm one of those types who really doesn't get any enjoyment out of being Mean in a Video Game, that turned out to be Astarion, because at least Lae'zel liked how I sometimes chose violence instead of talking (although to be fair, I rarely used Astarion OR Lae'zel... My party for 90% of the game was Gale, Karlach and Shadowheart. If anything Astarion would have hated me MORE if I'd taken him with me on more adventures hahafffff.)

Anyway, I think my thought process was something like "oh maybe if I play AS him I won't have to worry about winning his approval," but I now realize that was a really stupid decision based on a really stupid line of reasoning, because it just turns him into another Tav, which seems to totally defeat the purpose. I'm hoping that Ascending him will make it a bit more interesting (since I denied him that the first time,) but for now I wish I'd just made another Tav and tried to be a little bit more of a bastard, much as it would have made me squirm.

Gale- Battlemage’s Resolve (from Delfinition's Armor), Bracers of Defence [Both dyed with Purple Dye]

Shadowheart- Sharran Plate Armor (alt), Sharran Plate Gauntlets

Astarion- Wide Shoulder Drapes, Harper Armor, Gloves of Power [all dyed Black and Gold from Basket Full of Equipment mod]

Wyll- Rich Cloak, Adventurer’s Gear (Low Cut, Bandit Belts), Gloves of Missile Snaring [gloves dyed Black and Gold from Basket Full of Equipment mod ] Most of the Gear seen is from a mod called Extra Gear

Bracers of Defence, Gloves of Power, and Gloves of Missile Snaring are all Vanilla.
