Adelaide: Yes, though Lana is done brushing her teeth too, but she's cleaning the toilet.

Lana: Something is not clean here in the toilet, we need to fix the problem.

Oh no! She crouched behind the car, eyes wide in panic.

“He-eeey sweetie! You’re home early!” So very cheerful. “I, um, I dropped my bag-” she said in way of explanation, belatedly letting her purse drop to the ground. It landed on its side, spilling wallet, lipstick, granola bar, and three pens on the driveway. Can’t let him see me like this. “I’m fine! It’s fine!”

Jim moved to try and help and his mom pick up everything, and to see if he could catch a glimpse of her. She was acting strange, and he was beginning to think that that townsperson who’d told him to go and check on her had been right... had she really become a troll...?

He had yet to see her, though, so he couldn’t be sure. However, he was beginning to think that her lack of appearance might be on purpose; she was acting extremely strange. He tried to stay calm. “Are you sure?” He knelt to grab a pen that had rolled to his side of the car.

“Here, I’ve got a pen of yours...” He offered her a chance to reveal herself, trying to smile kindly, to show her that he wouldn’t freak out if she really was a troll, like that person had said.
