Headcanon Meme II Accepting II @broken-crcwn II Here's two for ya!

In AUs where they're allies, one of their moves is almost like "Shield" from Wonder Woman, wherein Jim uses Bular's arm/shoulder/hand/back to leap off of and get the drop on someone.

When Jim was in Camelot, he almost went to seek Bular out to try and talk to him, but things kept getting in the way, and eventually, it was too late-- they were on opposing sides of a war once again.

Every now and then, Jim will mark out days on his calendar that his mom has off which coincide with the local farmer's market dates, and if she seems up to it, he'll take her with him.

Jim really didn't like sneaking around on her once he was the Trollhunter, but when she said she'd done reckless things in her youth, too, the next time he slipped out of his window, he felt a little closer to her, in an odd-- but not unwelcome-- way.

He hadn’t had a chance to see the bruise yet, but he could certainly feel it. It was splashed across his forehead and right temple, just above his eyebrow, and it pounded. 

So he sighed and resisted the urge to rub at it, knowing that it wouldn’t actually clear up the pain-- not in the way that he could massage out headache pain. “Y’know what, ice might be good, yeah; if you don’t mind...”

Jim pursed his lips and gave her a nod, preparing for the sting. He honestly wasn’t sure what was worse-- getting the initial wound, or caring for that wound after. It was one thing to shrug them off when the adrenaline was pumping, but it was entirely another to sit through antiseptic treatments while perched on the bathtub rim, as his mom’s expert hands worked through first aid procedures. 

“I can handle it.” He reassured her, though he didn’t watch, instead opting to stare at the wall until the worst was over.

Barbara smiled softly at her son, wondering for the millionth time how she got so lucky. And how James had been so willing to walk away from such a great kid. “Trust me, I could write a book filled with better topics than Ja–your dad,” she assured him as she gave his hands a small squeeze. 

She ignored the onslaught of butterflies at mention of Walt, instead smiling at Jim, shaking her head and pushing his concerns aside. 

“Don’t worry about me, Jim. I’m fine.” 

Jim hummed like he didn’t quite buy her words, but since he wasn’t sure that pushing her further was the best idea, he decided to let it go. He squeezed her hands back instead, grinning crooked and goofy. 

“If you say so. I still think a game of super duper high stakes Go Fish is in order, though. Or whatever else you wanna play.” 

He paused for a moment, and then shot her a look, trying not to smile even wider. “However, if you pick Operation again, I will make you play with a penalty. You have an unfair advantage in that game.”
