I can imagine him definitely understanding your condition while others ostracized you, called you names, and ridiculed you which makes you feel useless and a burden. Imagine you pleading with him to end your life when he was in his occasional round looking for a peasant to feed upon and caught you. At first, he wouldn't have paid attention to your pleading, but the smile that you gave him on the brink of possible death made it difficult for him to sink his fangs into your neck. you couldn't see him, yet felt comforted by his presence, and he felt his dead heart strike a chord when you suddenly called him beautiful. it felt wrong to kill you, rather, I can imagine him taking you away to his private quarters to chat. this would continue further with him sometimes showing up at your home since no one else would visit you. you would talk about your blindness and the sadness you felt about your condition. him listening to every word and then deciding to take you to different places with him where he would intricately describe each scenery and suddenly you wouldn't feel too sad about being blind. he would be enjoying his company with you when one fine day you would confess to having fallen in love with him. him reciprocating your feelings and promising to love and hold onto you forever (maybe even changing you, if you'd let him of course). while I personally find him intimidating and serious, I can also imagine him being soft and gentle toward his lover, especially comforting you on those specific bad days when you feel burdened by your blindness (then end up killing whoever made you feel this way in a *cough* terrifying manner.) your days would be coupled with the occasional smug blind jokes and smug comments made by him but it would never hurt you, rather you found this disposition of his endearing especially cause he would be like this with only you. Intimacies would be mostly coupled with feeling each other thoroughly where you could always discern his expressions through his touch.
