Today I said goodbye to one of the best cats on the planet. Mickey’s respite on Monday was short lived. He started a rapid decline on Tuesday, and by Wednesday we knew it was time. Today we said goodbye to one of the most awesome cats I have ever had the honor to meet. Even more of an honor to share my home and life with him. Took my sweet handsome old man to the vet today, almost expecting we were going to have to send him over the Rainbow Bridge (he hasn’t been doing well). Though he lost a lot of weight, his doc wasn’t ready to convince us to pull the plug yet. He has an ear infection in both ears which may be a part of his balance problems. He’s tuckered out from the day’s indignities as you can see. Crashed under my desk with the space heater pointed at him and healing music for cats playing on YouTube. My handsome old man. Age and illness is starting to take its toll. I don’t know how much longer we will have him with us. I just have to cherish every day and let him go when he’s ready.
