HC # 8 Ornithologist!Cas and Ranger!Dean
Cas is looking for a special bird - it's so rare and interesting that he has dedicated his promotion to it. To finish his degree, he needs to gather some real-life data from the bird itself, though. Cas finds that this is easier said than done - his bird only lives in a wild park far up north of the country, in rough terrain that is surrounded almost completely by mountains.
The only person who could possibly help him set up camp up there and maybe provide a shower and some electricity now and then is a certain Dean Winchester, the park ranger. Rumor has it though that he is not the most warm-hearted of fellows.

Dean leads a secluded life, high up in the mountains where he's the only human being in a twenty mile radius. His only job is it to keep the wild park free of poachers and other trouble, and he loves the simplicity of what he has build for himself.
He's surprised and unamused when some scientist dude looking for an almost extinct bird contacts him one day, requesting his help. Dean would have said no, except that his boss is of the opinion that this shit is included in his job description. "Supporting scientific research, my ass."
