Orrest Head | Laura Marshall
Wainright’s Winter Pano
Friends! It’s always nice when lovely folk come up to visit, no matter how brief. So after coffee and delicious food in Windermere, we “worked off” the meal with a brisk hike up to Orrest Head (238m/781ft), the famous Wainright fell. It felt a bit arctic up there! But there were lovely sunset views across Windermere towards the snowy Lake District fells.

I REALLY want to walk up a hill/mountain but I need something which starts near a train station and so far I only know of one (Orrest Head) which I’ve done a few times because it’s all I know.
In the Lakes.
Please advise.
