behold juleka and the rooster hero Quill! I was serious when I said there was some serious kwami roulette happening, early concept below!
Orriko might as well have been the Kwami of Invisibility during her Monarch era.
Just saying that Gabriel didn’t have much imagination for a fashion designer. Feels like a hidden stipulation of Sublimation is being a power suitable for his situation.
Would've loved if he chose Flight often and had a full on Dragon Ball Z battle with CosmoBug and AstroCat. Now that would be a pretty cool Miraculous World Special since they get a boost in production value and toy with the timeline.
Though I get Invisibility since he already has a good 75 percent of the Kwamis with their powers great as they are. All he needs to do is be undetected about it. I do think that he could've gone visible and swapped to a different power. Though the time to figure one out in the heat of combat is a luxury to say the least.
How does Orriko know if a power Gabriel wants isn’t occupied by another offscreen Kwami? Like invisibility and super senses are pretty basic. Who’s to say there isn’t like a Kwami of Perception that enhances your senses? They confirmed that there’s hundreds of Miraculous used by the Guardians. But then they say “Oh you can get any powers you want as long as it’s not Miracuclass and Monarch”. Like that has to be a plothole.
Orriko might know who all the other kwamis are, perhaps. Or maybe this only applies to kwamis from the same miracle box as him, I dunno, Orriko's power is very fuzzy.
I had decided to redraw my really old picture of Marinette sleeping with her kwamis. So I had one day just decided to redraw it. I think I did a really good job.
Kwami’s are sparkly
Bonus: Kwami close ups
It's love Orikko hours
Based off a moment from @nottesilhouette 's ficling here
I admit that this is pretty out of the blue, but do you have any headcanons or theories for Orikko? Now that Fluff’s powers have been introduced and they aren’t directly related to the idea of night, has your idea of her and Orikko being foils to each other changed?
Technically yes now that they’ve presented a power of teleportation for Rabbit and I like that, I’m all for it. I used to have an idea where the power was similar to Troublemaker, called Half Moon where Rabbit can control their tangibility, but portals; I like that, I’d keep (not time related though). So no, they wouldn’t quite work as foils to each other anymore, especially going with an Alice in Wonderland theme instead of the Moon Rabbit.
But, this doesn’t change with what I want with Orriko (and I’ve tempted to rename them Dazzle but been torn); I know its a popular idea for Rooster is have like, a sonic boom cause they’re loud, but I’d rather play off Rooster’s role and their association with the sun. I rather Orriko to be a Kwami of Brilliance, and have a power to manipulate light, and potentially, also be associated with integrity, like, one idea for a power is Come to Light, where the truth is revealed, could break illusions, or perhaps allows the user to see past all forms of deceptions. And for just light in general, Light Show, manipulation of light, from being blinding, to possibly becoming invisible.
I just really like the idea of the rooster miraculous having a power associated with light, and play off roosters foretell the coming morning; there’s even a Japanese myth I read once that it was the rooster who was brave enough to awaken Amaterasu when she was sleeping deeply and bring back the day. Rooster is more than just being loud, they’re symbols of honesty, flamboyance, fighting spirit, vigilance, protection, fellowship, pride, and courage.
As for Orriko themselves, they’re similar to Duusu, a symbol of integrity and expression, but in comparison, this rooster is far more humble whereas the Peacock is an icon of nobility. As such, Orriko I see as a very dutiful and responsible kwami. Always an early riser, ready to get their day started as soon as the sun is up, and they love to sing in the morning. They’re in such a good mood when they wake up, they just have to let it out, and its a bonus that it will get their holder going whether they are ready or not.
Orriko has an ego, is easily flattered, a bit gluttonous, and has a slight bit of a temper. When excited, Orriko can have a hard time keeping quiet, and sometimes can get unknowingly loud and needs to be reminded to use their inside voice. And when they’re really mad, Orriko isn’t afraid to give someone a good peck. Orriko likes to be involved and will share their opinions eagerly, whether welcomed or not.
While Orriko is a responsible kwami, they can be a little distracted, but they will always have their goals in their sight. They will motivate their holders, to serve their duty and purpose, to remain vigilante, and courageous in the face of danger. As a Rooster, you are to catch attention, and be ready to fight for others, and put on a good show, everything can use a bit of flare.
I've always had the theory Orrikos power doesn't grant you new abilities it just enhances one's you have.
Marc used it to make himself better at scoring goals, which he was already goid at and to duplicate ladybugs charm.
Gabriel used it to go invisible. Anyone can hide with the right circumstances.
I don't think that works with invisibility. No matter how good you are at hiding, you don't become translucent.
Kwami practice that I never posted
